It is hard to believe the “ladies” didn’t go for “Iron Man” Maybe they didn’t know RDJ was the MAIN MAN!! Too, they might be thinking it is an animation and/or certainly not realizing there is romance between Tony and Pepper!!!! I think Marvel might have to do a little extra PR’ing to educate the ladies.

Yes, it had everything for a good family action movie. I just don’t understand what was soo bad about the movie. In a world inundated with movies of gratuitous sex and violence, I found National Treasure refreshing. Thanks for the link; I’ve been meaning to check it out at home but Trek:DS9 and Voyager keep making me forget. )

I’m also a fan of Will Smith and the main reason I enjoyed National Treasure and will check out the sequel is because it was a fun action/adventure movie that I could bring my 11 year old daughter to without worries about the content.

I didn’t know there were trailers for AvP: Requiem; I’m going to have to go to their site and check it out. A lot of the films on that list I’ve never even heard of, and I agree with everyone here: How could they omit AvP: Requiem? Someone said Will Smith is not that good an actor? Wow, I must be out of touch because I thought most of his films have been blockbusters: Men in Black (1 & 2), Bad Boys (1 & 2), I Robot, Hitch, Pursuit of Happyness, Enemy of the State, all made tons of bucks at the box office. Also, I liked National Treasure and look forward to the sequel. If that puts a blemish on my mancard, so be it. )

On the list or not I still think “Aliens vs Predator: Requiem” is going to bring in the bucks at the box office. They have been advertising it like crazy on the movies I’ve seen the past couple weeks. The trailers look pretty amazing so I’m expecting great things from that one.

Smith’s Ali movie proved he’s got acting chops and “Pursuit of Happyness” did well. He’s got a big likability factor that draws people to him and that so many actors are missing these days IMO.

The big surprises for me were” Incredible Hulk and Speed Racer, two very expensive, nostalgia laden flicks that should be much higher on the list. Marvel may need to be worried. Brokeback Lee’s Hulk sucked so bad that one of the most recognizable characters of all time is no longer anticipated, despite an A-list lead? And the Wachowskis, their ending to the awesome Matrix saga was lacking, to say the least. Revolutions had hardly any Neo, y’know the reason eople went to see the movie in the first place? And it got lost in psycho-babble, stacked upon even more psycho babble. I think they just ran out of ideas and lacked a way to answer all the questions they posed in the first two films; so they just left everything mired in ambiguity.
It’s obvious why Narnia is ranked so high: because it made boatloads of cash from people like me who saw it many, many times. I, and most people I know (admittedly religious people) loved it. I’ve read all the books several times and love the way Narnia is being translated to the screen.
I am legend is going to be a bust, because Will Smith is not that good. He’s average at best. To be honest, I have a hard time taking him serious and see the fresh prince pretending to be tuff on screen everytime he’s in a movie. ID4 and Bad Boys I and II made huge profits, but what about his other flicks? Were they huge as well? I’m not too sure about that.

I would think that if you look at the type of people they polled that it’s the type of person who probably stays on top of movie news. And look at some of the really obscure films high on the list like “Charlie’s War” while “Aliens vs Predator: Requiem” is nowhere to be seen!

Call me paranoid, but I think there’s something fishy about this survey.

This poll will change drastically just because most of the movie going public doesn’t know about 1/2 the films that are coming out next. Kudo to IM for doing so well this early!

Ah, I forgot to note that half of the films in the top 10 are sequels. The first “Hellboy” really didn’t do that well, did it?

As far as “Bond 22,” I think it fell outside of the 12 month range because it opens over a year from now.

Vic,note that Iron Man is probably NOT on the ladies’ list because IT IS NOT a sequel. Before the movie comes out,I wouldn’t expect most women to give a hoot about Iron Man,they didn’t care about Spider-Man either,before his movie came out,so don’t feel bad. And,honestly,if this were Indy 1 or National Treasure (which I hated)1,I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t care about that either. (No offence ladies)
