I believe ‘Thor’ will be the the Lord of the Rings version for Marvel and the film will end with Thor banihed to Earth modern day inside the staff and found by the good doctor. This will help Marvel injection of magic and mythology into the Avengers film and the Marvel Studio’s movie universe.

Hiddleston looks perfect looks-wise.

If the director wanted him specifically, I’m sure it’s for a good reason.

I like this news considerably better than the Hemsworth news.

I still think that Josh Harnett would have been a better choice and a draw for people to check out the movie people would have been interested to see if he was as diabolical as Ledger as Joker and who cares how tall Loki is…

I think the Thor casting might be great tho, well have to see if the dude can bulk up, better get that HGH out lol.

Also Im have some Tales of Asgard comics and some other Thor stuff but not much with him in this world, so how are they gonna make that work? I don’t remember the story other then the guy is a weakling cripple that finds Mjoilner and turns into Thor, are they gonna wait til the end of the movie and curse or banish Thor from Asgard into the hammer and then show the guy find it on earth or what? Someone fill me in!

I thought Thor was a terrible choice. I don’t know much about this guy so I can’t really say much about it though I was kind of wanting Hartnett to get it. He is a good actor and I wanted to see what he could do with it plus at least one big name would of helped the film make money. Though with the casting of Thor I’m not even sure I will watch it unless some good news comes out or at least a good trailer. So far it’s not looking good.

I’m not sure how they’re going to be able to tie Thor’s origin and universe into the Iron Man universe. This should be interesting.

I agree with casting little known actors because the realm of Asgard and the action will have to be epic. Marvel will need a heck of a lot of money to pay ILM (or whomever they get for the effects) for what they will need to make this movie successful.
