But small towns really are what I would choose over any concrete jungle. Remember though, not all small towns are great environs for growing up kids- it's how you grow them up; in the fear of the Lord and what not. It's all about making your place a better place to live. Either you have a nice calm small town that's great for raising children because it's safe, everyone knows everyone and politeness and courtesy are important virtues, or you have a big city where you can go out and party every night, but nobody cares about courtesy, you're more likely to get robbed, and less likely to be allowed to defend yourself (ironic huh?) I settled for the middle-ground, suburbia, lol. If given a choice though, I'd prefer a small town over a big city any day of the week. My sister lives in Chicago. I've stayed there a few days on vacation. It sucks, the only thing to do there is drink because there are bars in every corner, and you have absolutely no individual rights because there are laws governing every little thing you do. Of course, the criminals don't care, so they have free reign... Probably why crime rates are so insane over there. I wonder when the idiot government there would realize that they need to change their retarded policies. I've stayed with friends in a small town in northern Florida and it was a blast.
