Well, MARVEL, not sure if you know them, but they own the rights to Hulk, decided that was the direction they wanted in their movie. I don't know if they know what they're talking about though, I've never heard of them... :-P

Come on incredible hulk a good movie it was poop. Edward norton is horrible in almost every movie he does, save a few. He killed that movie for me and using the shows origin instead of the obviously superior comic books they defeated the whole point of the character, hulk is about our fears stemming from nuclear energy not a guy who signed up for some super soldier program its dumb to me because it means anybody could become the hulk thus eliminating anything special about the character its totally lame. As for spawn im on board but it doesnt seem like the right movie it is going to be more about a made up character hunting spawn? Why wouldnt spawn just kill him in the first five minutes of the movie pow story over. And who cares who plays spawn he will never talk or be in direct light so it could be morgan freemon lol and it would make no difference then if mike tyson played it. I understand what he is trying to do but a reboot of the actual spawn characters origin and story in trilogy form would be far superior. I mean this story has no sequel potential or real spawn marketability so it better be a truly good story because unlike the incredible hulk where you can just have the character smash things for 2 hours todd will have to actually make us care about random people when comic fans came to see a spawn movie. And sam and twitch better be in there or the movie is a complete bust.

Personally I'm not too interested in Spawn as a character. And it has nothing to do with his race despite someone calling me a racist before, lol. I just don't like all of these more supernatural comic book heroes. I like the "human" ones like Iron Man, Batman, Punisher, etc. The only supernatural one I'm really looking forward to is Thor and that's only because it's part of the whole Marvel universe they are trying to make and I liked Iron Man so much...

But if they make a new Spawn, I'll probably watch it, I've become a comic book movie fan lately. They are so fun to watch. I loved Iron Man and TDK, Incredible Hulk was pretty bad ass, and I even enjoyed Punisher Warzone despite its crappy villains. so bring it on.

I would like to reply to your message with the instance of "Hulk" directed by Ang Lee in 2003, and "The Incredible Hulk" directed by Louis Leterrier in 2008. More money, A BETTER STORYLINE,and the desire to reach a wider audience heralded "The Incredible Hulk" with a much larger end profit than "Hulk". Many people thought they were crazy to redo the 2003 version, but financially, it turned out to the the right move. My point, let's not cut out the concept of a remake of Spawn until we see who all the players involved will be.

@The Desolate One
From a fellow brother of color, I believe you are right, teddy was being sarcastic. Michael Jai White, IMHO, was perfect for the role. In fact, I think he would be perfect to play Power Man, instead of the Transformers marine.

@teddy
You might want to put LOL or :-) (which is : - ) all together) after a sarcastic remark.

I THINK Teddy was being sarcastic in his comment, but I'm not 100% sure. BEING A BLACK MAN (had to get that out of the way), I still can't shake off when racist people pull race into any and every subject out there. I try to either completely ignore it, or respond in a way that illustrates that minorities are not idiots, as assumed by the color of their skin, but in fact ALL races share the same common characteristics. If a black baby and a white baby are next to each other in a nursery and they're both crying, does the white baby somehow seem more intelligent in it's crying by virtue of race? I think NOT. Bottom line is that we are all PEOPLE. Teddy's message had a hint of sarcasm in it regarding McFarlane keeping the character of Spawn black and using Spawn as the character to propel to movie status. In that regard, I have to agree with him. Regardless of how good a movie with a black super hero is (Yes, even BLADE), you're still going to have your core group of race mongers who bash the movie because they feel (as Teddy stated) that a white super hero is just more appealing than a black one could be. For those types of haters, I say POO POO on them, but at the same time, I'm not going to waste negative energy dwelling on them and what they believe in. I'm more concerned about what I believe in, and THAT'S what's most important to ME.

I've heard quite a few things about Mr. McFarlane, and not too many of them good. I've heard that he's quite egotistical, and eccentric. Even though those sayings MAY be true, I also feel that NOBODY deserves more of a chance to direct a character driven movie than the person who created the character. Some character creators don't feel that they could handle such a task, and they usually decide on getting someone else to handle it. Then there are others that are given the shaft because their concepts aren't considered to be mainstream enough. This was the case with Mr. McFarlane and 1997's "Spawn". In his opinion, they watered the movie down so much and altered it so much that by the time it came out, he didn't feel it properly represented his character. My opinion on it is.....they (the movie powers that be) destroyed the first version of the movie, so they need to go ahead and give Mr. McFarlane control of the reboot. He may have odd, self centered ways about himself, but if he can bring his character to film in a way that satisfies the audience and makes the "bosses" richer, then it's all a good thing. As far as Leo, I don't know. I've seen stranger things happen, so if he DID take the role, it wouldn't shock me, but it would make me raise an eyebrow.

McFarlane is a hack,imo.Spawn was kinda cool for the first few issues,but since he can't make a good story to save his life,it ended up sucking royally,even when he got all these big name writers to take over the story.Ultimately,the suckness seemed to transfer over into the movie.

I think that Sweetsadist is right.I think he is just going around extrapolating about plans for another movie,except no one really cares or looks to be interested.

This seems to be an act of desperation,imo.I'm not sure,but maybe his toyline and licensing projects aren't doing as well as they once were,plus all of the ridiculously expensive baseball memorabilia that he foolishly blew millions on,maybe he's close to bankruptcy.
