The first Spawn movie was okay. Needed more cape, and definitely less corny scenes and Spawn using guns. Also a Spawn movie absolutely has to be R-rated, you can’t make a PG-14 Spawn movie and do it right. I can see McFarlane writing it, definitely not directing though. You need someone experienced, and this movie would rely heavily on good special effects too along with a good story.

I liked the old movie, and will not watch a second one if they cop out on decent special effects. Also, they threw in a tall red-headed women walking through in the dinner hall scene, and that, of course, was a nod to fans that maybe Angela was watching what was going on. She needs to be in the second film as well. Don’t know who Angela is? Well, WIKI it. Not in the mood to teach tonight.

I agree, except for the horrible CGI “hell” scenes I enjoyed the ’97 movie.

Give it to a studio and hope for the best. And if you want it to be good, try to get WB to take it and not FOX.

I liked the 97 film mainly because of Michael Jai White. If they do another film, they need to get the right director, not McFarlane (look at The Spirit). This story is totally not like The Departed but it can be an epic film with the right people involved and the right effects.
