TLC Cancels American Chopper; Paul Jr. Getting a Show? [Updated]

american choppers TLC Cancels American Chopper; Paul Jr. Getting a Show? [Updated]

OCC vs. PJD – It’s on!
American Chopper: Paul Sr. & Paul Jr. Discuss The Cadillac Build-Off

While we tend to skew away from reality television on this site, I felt that it was only appropriate to write about the news of TLC canceling American Chopper. This show has not only been the Discovery Network’s flagship series for the past seven years, but it has helped Discovery (and their various networks) to grow into one of the most powerful, educational and entertaining channels on television.

For the past six seasons, American Chopper has not only brought us hundreds of interesting bike builds, but has continuously proven to be one of the most “real” reality televisions on the air. While building bikes is what the show is named after, fans of the series know that the family interaction and drama was equally as important, if not more so, than the actual bike builds.

This was never more apparent than in this past season where we saw the literal demise of the Teutul family relationship with Paul Sr. firing both sons, Paul Jr. starting his own company and Mikey going to rehab. Move over, The Hills, this is what actual reality looks like.

While I hate to see a series that I’ve enjoyed for so many years come to an end, I couldn’t really see any other option. With Paul Jr. removed from the company, the bike designs and builds became less creative and more about Paul Sr. trying to prove that his son wasn’t the only one in the family that could design unique motorcycles. Sadly, it seems as though he was.

As the season continued, the episodes started falling apart. I would find myself skipping over the motorcycle builds to watch what Mikey and Paul Jr. were up to. Partly because I wasn’t interested in the bike builds anymore, but mostly because I was getting tired of seeing Paul Sr. act like a child by continuously talking bad about his family.

american chopper paul jr TLC Cancels American Chopper; Paul Jr. Getting a Show? [Updated]Paul Jr. is ready to be his own bike man.

But maybe all is not lost, as Paul Jr. has taken to Twitter to make sure  everyone knows that while American Chopper may be over, he’s not going away anytime soon and “the best is yet to come.”

*AC series finally [finale]! Its been almost a decade of great experiences. For me, I am certainly not done with television. The best is yet to come

Hmm… does this mean that Paul Jr. will be getting his own show? I have to say that I might watch it. I found his having to start over really refreshing.

Check out the trailer for the series finale episode below.

Are you happy to see American Chopper come to an end? Would you watch a show staring Paul Jr.? Any thoughts on the family drama?

I truly am disappointed to see the show come to an end with the given circumstances. I was hoping to see some sort of display of regret from senior as to how he has treated his sons. Instead all I have seen is his sarcasm and hurtful remarks about Paul Jr. I am sure his remarks are out of hurt he is dealing with but as a seasoned adult that is old enough to act a bit more mature, I am irritated as to how he has publicly dealt with his issues and publicly smeared his son’s name. I like both Paul Sr. and Jr. for their own strengths they each have. I will not miss seeing Paul Sr. and OCC always trying to up one on PJD and their degrading remarks. I am also disappointed in not seeing Senior do more bike builds, ESPECIALLY on the Biker Build Off. Hopefully the old saying will hold true, “When one chapter ends……another begins.” Another bike building show would be great to watch. As long as it is not Jesse James.

The show has not come to an end,its this webpage that has not been updated for a few years, the show is still going,i cant see it comming to an end anytime soon, unless sr and Jr make up and join forces, but i dont even see that happening even if they did make up,its better to have two shows with shop against shop,as for jesse james he is trying to get back with a show of his own anyway he can,he even went out with Kat Von D trying to worm his way in the door, and he cheated on her with 19 other women, jesse james is a has been they should have picked someone who is not an arse like jesse james, the bike he built he built too big, couldn`t even see over the bars,he was like a 5 year old on a mans bike, what a loser, jesse james is not Tv material,no one will touch him and i know there are a lot of people that would not watch any show he was on…..

Well at least now it’s official.
The Television watching public have declared American chopper as the new American idol where talent has nothing to do with the ‘Winner’.
I would love to know what the rules of the build off constitute as a ‘Bike’.
Good to see Jr has lost some weight,It was getting hard to distinguish between him Mikey and Vinny.

Today its got nothing to do with talent, there are many bike shops out there with plenty of talent ie PJD,its about progress, and a shop full of nice toys, and there is nothing wrong with that, thats progress for you,and you can still produce really nice bikes, building bikes all by hand is a dying art i wont deny it,but most work that involves using your hands is a dying art, machines are able to do it better and faster, you cant blame people like PJD or even occ for taking advantage of technology, big companys are going to PJD and as much as i hate to say it even occ because they can build a good bike in less than half the time it used to take by hand, you cant blame people for progress, thats what its like today,if you dont move on you go under, walk around a Harley factory and see it for yourself, harley is a respected name, yet no one slanders their bikes,so your argument that compares PJD to American idol is like a bucket with a hole,it holds no water, they have found a niche in the market and working with it,nothing wrong with that, its what they are good at,and we will see plenty more bikes coming from PJD for many years to come,it`s evolution, just like we have evolved,so have many ways of doing business and producing products for sale…

I agree with everything you have said. Especially not wanting to see Jesse James build bikes. That man is of the lowest character I’ve witnessed in a long time. Paul Senior might have acted like a jerk but family dysfunction tends to bring out the worst in people. Jesse James though is just a foul human being and I hope he is shunned from television forever. The build off of bikes where Paul Jr. ended up winning truly displayed what kind of person Jesse James is. I really feel for Sandra Bullock but she is so much better off with him out of her life.

I thought Jr’s bike was very kool, he stayed true to himself and made the theme bike. Jessie is a moron and looking for another 15 min of fame. He should just go out with another “hollywood star” to get attention (DO NOT KNOW WHAT SANDRA BULLOCK SAW IN THAT A**!!) Love IS blind!!! hahaha Sr….WTH was that supposed to be? Yes, my first thought was that he took a page right out of Jr’s book. A flame thrower? I’m surprised none of thier coifs caught fire as they were driving it. Sr….the was a “BIKE BUILD-OFF” you idiot. Yeah, keep listening to Jason, he’s so inventive. Maybe he can invent a way to give all of them some common sense. He should have been turned away when they found out what he was planning on building, but then again, maybe they just wanted him to look like the a** he is! Honestly, why did Jr even allow that crap about their last fight to be up on that screen? If that was me, I would have bowed out. It was demeaning and I thought he was better than that, but maybe some of that had to be in there. Why can’t they just do a build-off and not tell anyone, then have the public vote to see which is best and then they would really see truly honest results. I don’t doubt Jr would win, but at the very least, it would shut JJ and Sr the hell up. I do think some of it is a popularity contest, but Jesse’s bike, he had to look UNDER the bars to see!!!! How downright stupid is that? I think it was a great “classic” bike and he worked hard, but who the heck wants to ride a bike like that when one can’t even see over the handle bars?? Just ridiculous! He can go back and hide under his rock for another 5 years!

James was the only REAL bike on the show…the Tuetels are lucky they didn’t have to follow the build-offs of old and actually have to ride their bikes to the show….wouldn’t have made it 30 miles..Shows how pathetic most viewers are if they are swayed by some cheesey eye-candy as opposed to solid engineering. well I guess I’ll be seeing all those peopkle on the side of the road as I drive by lol…

Brent, this board has never been for bikers. It’s always been more of a “do you like Jr or do you like Sr” kind of thing. Meaning no disrespect to any of AC’s fan base, but most of those bikes aren’t street legal (in the US), nor do I think they are supposed to be considered as daily drivers. They are usually theme bikes and/or corporate promotional advertising pieces. I’m pretty sure that video game trike PJD did won’t be making the trip from North Carolina to Sturgis, and with a 140 pound front end, I wouldn’t want to try it. On the other hand, I wouldn’t mind trying out OCC’s diamond cut, nitrous enhanced losing entry from the Caddy build.

What most people forget today, when a bike is built it is pretty much built on a conveyer belt system, its called progress, there is no money in takeing time to build a bike from scratch, its time and money, there is nothing wrong with building bikes this way, most bike companys are doing this, they cant afford to wait for a dinosaur like jesse the booster seat james,as for saying they are not riders they are, what about the production bikes they have built over the years, they are all street legal,as are pretty much all the theme bikes, several times i have heard se say this is a rider,in other words the customer wants to ride the bike,ie jay leno,he rides the bike they made him,and he`s very happy with it,what research have you done to say they are not riders,or legal, jesse james has been wanting his own show for a while, monster garage was a load of rubbish,im glad to see the end of it,whether you like the show or not this is a sign of the times, big companys are queuing waiting to get a bike built, jesse fowl mouth james is a show of who thought just by entering his name he would win and get back on tv that was his ultimate goal his own show, reading around that is not what the majority of people want, all they see is a bad loser,i have said this before,he looked stupid on that bike,it was like seeing a 5 year old boy who decided to take his old mans bike for a ride,he could not see over the bars let alone the head light,he was going from left to righ with his body to make sure he was going in a straight line,he signed up for the show with the rules that were put in place,he didn`t have to sign up for it,i would have much prefered to have seen someone who actually deserves the chance, not some spoilt idiot with the mouth of a toilet, the sooner he disapears the better,he got shown up and didnt like it,he lost out to the better man, accept it and be gracious in deafeat, not storm off stage,at least sr went over and congratulated his son, would it have killed james to have done the same thing, still i bet Sandra Bullock got a kick out of it,as did kat Von D and the other 19 women he was cheating on,bye bye jesse james, get back under the rock you climbed out of…..Be interesting to see what Jr knockers have to say about this………..

Dave, this board has never, ever been about production bikes. The Greenie (a Sr old school design)was one of OCC’s best reviewed product lines (American Iron magazine, ’08), but beyond my mentioning it last year, you don’t hear about it. I don’t know what constitutes “street legal” in Australia, but in this country you need things like turn signals, which you don’t need on a display/advertising product. That’s not to say the one-off’s can’t be made street legal, but I seriously don’t think that PJD’s Gears of War trike or any of the OCC tribute bikes were ever meant to be ridden back and forth to work.

Beyond commenting on liking or disliking a particular bike, this board is almost 100% about personalities (with respect, read what constitutes most of your post) and the ongoing Teutel soap opera.

dude James’ bike is just like what Vinny said. you can go down to bike week and see that same thing.i would know, ive been there. and sr. bike thing would make it further than any of those bikes. but the competition wasent about how good it rides. thats why i voted for jr. it was about creativity, not who can make it further.

Get your head on straight it was called a bike build off not a popularity contest. Go to a real bike build off and you will see the bikes actually used they are not there to just look pretty. Jr. and Sr. make some nice bikes but Jesse truely had the only bike and should have won hands down. The public got is wrong again.

You are nuts. This was suppose to be a bike build off. Jr’s bike (if you can call it a bike) was nice looking but not practical. The dirt bike I had in the 1980′s had a larger gas tank than his did. His bike was like having a Ford 150 Pick Up Truck with a 5 gallon gas tank. You do not want to stop constantly to get gas. Appareance wise and creativity, his bike had it. But no rider would every buy it to ride, which is the purpose of having a bike. Jesse’s bike was the best bike even though he is a foul mouth idiot. He is damn good bike builder.

Putting this in a simple way for you to understand,if jesse james was the better bike builder, why didn`t he win???,he lost, move aside mr has been,go and replay all your videos of your heydays, those times are now over, and the score jr won by was not close,he won by a big margin, its not about the tank,he could have easerly made two,one for the show and one for riding, its very easy really……….

Dave, seriously? Do you have any idea what the paint jobs alone are worth on one of those customs? There is a reason there are always at least two people involved when the tanks are mounted. Then spilling fuel all over the engine when you change out fuel lines (or forget to close the shutoff)?

I understand that you are adamant in your belief that most of the bikes OCC and PJD do are meant to be ridden, but beyond being unloaded from the trailer and ridden onto a nearby stage, they simply aren’t.

Lol… just as I thought, Jr’s bike was smokin! I have no idea what the hell is going on over at OCC but Sr. should be ashamed of his shop and his effort in this build off. First of all, the whole concept is an imitation of Jr’s Gears bike. They couldn’t even come up with an original concept. But it speaks volumes for Jr’s effect on OCC. He’s in their head and it shows!
As for Jessie, what can I say… his effort speaks for itself. The guy is a first class ahole, an immature punk. His bike looks like any bike you can find anywhere, it’s a nice bike but we’ve seen it before. He has opened his big mouth, talked a lot a smack and couldn’t back it up, as usual.

Unbelievable. I thought we were going to get something like the real “Biker Build-Off” and instead we get WWE. I left in disgust after 20 mins so I guess I missed the scantily clad girls walking around holding up signs. And the “host”? Words fail me…

I wouldn’t watch a show about any of them if they held a gun to my head. Instead I would beg them to pull the trigger. Unfortunately, DC will undoubtedly continue to run marathons of “American Chopper” instead of good programs like “Flying Wild Alaska” or “Dual Survival”. God forbid they should resurrect “Monster Garage”.

I agree with those who dislike the way Sr. has treated both his kids. But in the biuld off I have 2 questions. One did I miss something or and I am fooled that Paul senior did not design the what ever u call it, and 2 did he even work on it. I was led to believe that the build off was about who could build the best bile. Well Jessie and Paul jr were both totaly involved with their bike. It has been clear to me for a long time Paul Jr has been the brains behind most of the bikes we have seen on TV. Any fair mined person could see that and glad he was able to pull it off. Great job JR. HOPE THE BEST FOR YOU.

As far as I can tell, Ed, Sr had virtually nothing to do with the bike. What’s his name designed it and the crew built it. He just stood around and said pompous things every so once in a while. I believe the only thing he had to do with design was to voice some cliche like “it has to be out of the box.”

Your point is well taken. Sr’s “bike” should have been ruled out because it was not his bike in any meaningful sense. He paid the salaries and for the parts. That’s about it. Funny, I am starting to feel sorry for him…

I certainly want to continue watching American Chopper. I would be willing to watch only PJD’s work. After all these years I would like to continue watching the family drama. I keep praying for Paul Sr. to come to his senses and realize his family is more important than his bank account! Although one wonders if there’s any reason to hope when you’re talking about a man who sued his own son over something which should have been rather easy to resolve amongst themselves. Please do NOT deprive me of one of my 3 favorite shows to watch during the week!!!

It is clear that for a significant number of viewers, American Chopper has become a Soap Opera. Maybe they should move the new episodes to early afternoon? ;-)

Actually, of course, there is a soap opera aspect to all these “reality” (more truthfully, “scripted reality”) shows. It’s just that this aspect, namely the antics of the dysfunctional Teutul family, dominates this one rather than building bikes. Compare it to “Biker Build-Off”, “Flying Wild Alaska” or “Dual Survival”.

The American Chopper “Build-off” was a travesty obviously cooked up by DC to boost ratings and maybe rehabilitate JJ (a dumb idea if there ever was one). Give them what they deserve, stop watching.

BTW, funny thing. I find myself feeling sorry for Sr, jerk that he is. Jr is too arrogant for my taste. Mike, well, I’m not sure. His little boy act can get a bit old, but he can be funny and I think he was genuinely concerned about Sr firing Jr. But he sure wasn’t earning his paycheck while “working” for Sr.

Well the build of has finished and the Jr knockers are out already, all through the build off there was the has been jesse james running his mouth to everyone who would listen,he finished his bike, and he looked like a little kid on it,someone give the kid a booster seat so he can see over the bars, jesse james the man,and i use that term loosely, thought all he had to do was enter his name into the build off and he would win,hes all washed up,no one wants to see him back on the Tv,i would sooner watch paint dry than watch this foul mouthed idiot,he was an emabarresment to all other bike builders,he should never have been given the opportunity to star in this build off, there are plenty of other builders out there who could build james`s bike with their eyes closed,as for it being a soap,it was james that turned it into a soap haming it up to the camera`s with his insults and very dry humour, and where was he after Jr was awarded the win,he stormed off stage, credit where credit is due and least sr stayed and went over to his sone shook his hand and hugged him, still what do you expect from this james who cheats on everyone and everything he does,he`s a dinosaur,he`s had his day, face it like a man,you lost fair and square nbeaten by a better man who didn`t have to resort to mouthing off about the opposition,i would have liked to see a real man to have been given the chance to be on this build off,not this boy who has no respect, but we all know the sort of person he is,he cheats on his wife, then tries to get back into the Tv scene by going out with Kat Von D,and then he cheats on her with 19 other women, james your Tv days are over, you lost fair and square to a better man and bike builder, blimb back under that rock you crawled out from, and next time you ride a bike,go and get a baby booter seat………………Loser……….

Consider using an electric motor for the rear wheel with a rim mounted to the motor the same with as the tire.Accordingly no transmission will be needed,no chain or belt,no gas tank or plumbing just an electric
source so streamlining could go to a new
level. The tire could inflatable or even solid
and pressed on the rim.I will stop there good luck if your like this notion.

First of all it is all fake, someone even said it was like watching the wwe. I thought it was a comedy, glad that I recorded it so I could fast forward through all the lame talking. PJD couldn’t build a bike from scratch if they wanted to so it is good that there is all of this innovation. I thought senior would of put up more of a challenge but oh well, lol. At least Jesse built 70 percent of his bike which relates to the original biker build offs. People talk about tv time, that is all it is about, they are starting to slip in the ratings and its there way to try to recover. They should do it again, don’t televise it and let people vote for the finished product without knowing who built what and see what happens. I bet people would of been supprised with the result then.

Hahahaha, your post is so funny, now let me guess,if jesse james had won, your post would have been different, and it would be heaping praise on this so called bike builder, lol, better get used to it,this is what bike building is about,i have e,mailed several bike builders who have appeared on biker build off and they have nothing but nice things to say about American chopper, all the time this show is on the Tv,its good for them, and they have even been in touch with both sr and jr and told them they love the bikes, this biker build off,was run the same way jesse james run his mouth, only thing is,he lost, and stormed off stage, sore loser or what?,its not jr`s fault if he cant cut the mustard anymore, big companys are queueing up to get themed bikes built by both shops at American choppers,as for holding it again i dont think so,what if he lost again,i bet you would want it run again and again till jesse james won, these American chopper haters really take the cake, they actually want to cheat, but then jesse james is a cheat,he cheated on his wife, then tried to sneak through the back door to a tv show through kat Von D,he`s all washed up,i bet he must be the laughing stock of bike builders across the world, running with his mouth yet looked like a 5 year old riding a large mans bike, some one really should have given him a booster seat so he could see over the bars, instead of having to look each side of the forks to make sure he was going in the right direction, that was funny, maybe he should have put more padding in the seat, bye bye jesse james, you had your 15 minutes of fame hahahahaha…….

I always liked Paul Jr and Mikey. I wasn’t surprised when he won the build off. I think a good series would be to see Paul Jr building up his business to buy out his father and retire the old man. I think it would build alot of human interest, maybe it would convince Rick to join forces with a winner, after all, they are all friends. In any case, You did great Paul hope to see you in your own show soon. Rick

jr is a class act that built a class bike, james built a typical chopper that looked so uncomfortable i could not imagine trying to ride it for any distance,sr knew he did not have a chance,so he took the cowards way out.ps did you notice that when jr told sr that he loved him,i could sence disgust our hatred from sr towards jr

It is clear to me after reading all the post here that Paul Jr. is the one here that 90% feel good about. I’ve just have to laugh when Jessie thinks he is the king of custom bikes. Just wonder if he has ever heard of ARLEN NESS”"”"” He was and clearly the one who took bike building to the level we see today. In fact his grand son is on his way to carry on what his grandfather and dad has built. I like what Jessies built except for the front end, but clearly Paul Jr. has way more talent in design work then his dad or Jessie. I am all for a show centered around Paul Jr. I am interested in the bikes not the family drama. I love motorcyles. Been riding for 57 of my 66 years.

Paul Jr from the beginning brought his entire crew on stage with him. He told the audience that without them he could not have built the bike. Paul Sr and Jesse kept saying That they built their bikes and of cource we now better. The whole time it was how great from Paul Sr and Jesses thought they were. Now Discovery Channel needs to bring Paul Jr back with Rick to make the dream team complete.

Or maybe its just time for you to watch something else, there is still a lot going for the show, and a lot more from sr towards his son,hes a jealous old man,how many times does he have to get beat to finally give his son the credit he deserves, dont forget they have and still do make production bikes that people ride,we have a francise two hours from us,been and seen it and the bikes are nice bikes, and they do ride them, but at the moment these big companys are the ones who are having a say in what gets built, they are the ones paying for them, and wether you like it or not they are the ones paying the bills, not really good buisness to turn customers away, there is a demand growing for Jr to make production bike`s,but its all go,im sure there must be re-runs of monster garage you could watch if thats the sort of thing you like……….

It seems that you Dave have a hate on for Sr and everything he does or says so why do watch the show that is centered around him?
The obvious lack of knowledge of Motorbikes is blatantly clear on here when I read the comments.
Just explain to me how a ‘Bike’ that has a 1 gallon tank and can only be ridden for about 20 miles is not a ‘Trailer Queen’?
It was nice of Jr to bring his ‘Crew’ on but what exactly did Mikey and his wife do for the bike?Come to think of it what did Jr do on the build?

        Reply
        • Rick    1 year ago

Yes, EnglishBob, I would call that a “trailer queen”. As others have pointed out, a big chunk of the money both Sr and Jr make is doing theme bikes for companies. I don’t think Jr is even making production bikes yet. What the companies want is something that looks good and pitches their company. If it has enough gas to motor up on to the stage, that’s cool with them.

As far as Mikey and his wife are concerned, what they did or didn’t do in the build is not the point. I think Jr is saying that without his exended family’s support, which includes his employees, he would not be able to build that bike (or any othere).

As far as Jr is concerned, his primary responsibility has always been design, not fabrication. Division of labor. Without a vision, you can fabricate all you want and you would wind up with nothing. But both are essential. Design and fabrication are a team and complement and influence each other. Jrs designs always have to be modified after fabrication starts as the impossible is replaced with the possible.

Yes, there are builders who can handle both parts of the team well virtually by themselves, but I seem to remember that all the Biker Build-off episodes including Arlen Ness, had someone or two or three helping, sometimes because of time pressure, like you know who.

BTW, lets not mention his real name any more. You know who.

Jr can also fabricate, you must have missed the early days when he was building bikes, now he has a great team with him,and they help, and they are a great team that works well together, and they produce these bikes that the big companys want, tanks can be made bigger, remember Mikeys blues bike, that had one of the largest tanks i have seen in a long time, all the bikes that jr builds are ride bikes, anyone who wants one built only has to ask for a spare tank in the same style as the origional but bigger, its not that hard of an ask,if thats peoples only gripe, its a bit silly, but the companys that want these bikes get what they ask for,you cant blame Jr for that,he gives them what they want………..

The show is not centered around sr,its centered around two shops, and out of the two shops i would always pick Jr over the old man,we can not ever understand how a father could ever take his son to court and try and steal 20% shares in a company that the old man said is worth nothing, thankfully the jusdge saw it Jr`s way and said so,Jr won the case, the jusdge said he didn`t have to sell his shares,i have kids the same age as sr,and i would never do the things he has done to his kids and family, you obviously have not read all the posts here, you would now if you did that im not a minority when it comes to this, most of the people who have posted here think the same thing,sr has been the one to carry this on,he just cant admit that his son is better then he is,maybe is just in America.
Knowledge about bikes will never change the outcome,as you think it will,it doesn`t matter how many times you post, and its the same thing over and over again,Jr beat jesse james, and most people agree that Jr was the better builder, regardless of the size of the tank, didn`t you watch the show,if you missed it pop over to youtube, its there for everyone to enjoy,as for mikey and jrs wife, they were there to support jr,see there is an easy answer to your question,as for your remark about what did jr do,well pop over to youtube, its there to see,or is it that you dont want to watch mr im a bike builder jesse james getting beat,he should have gone to wall mart gone to the baby section and bought a booster seat, its the only way he will ever see over those bars, and even the headlight,he thought that doing this build off he would get his own show again, people dont want to see him on the Tv anymore,he had his chance thats it,his bike is not a one of a kind,i see these bikes all the time, but those riding them dont look like a kid who is taking his dads bike for a while, pure and simple,he blew it,and lost, cant wait to see what Sandra bullock has to say about it,i bet she loved seeing him get beat,as would Kat Von D…………..Jr won,get over it,nothing you say will ever change that, say what you like the outcome will always be the same…………

EnglishBob, This forum has never really been about the minutiae of motorcycles or building customs. It’s about a TV series that (now) deals with a highly dysfunctional family who happen to build bikes.

DaveB is a big boy and can speak for himself. While I disagree with a lot of what he says, I agree 100% with him in his take on both this board and his overall view of the series. This forum, plus the other three on this website (“Screenrant”, not BikeRant) that deal with AC (the series) are less about the mechanics of fabricating and more about the drama and personalities. You don’t have to understand the geometry involved in rolling or bending steel to know whether or not you like the finished product. If you go back a few months and read the posts, you’ll find the vast majority of them deal with what a saint Jr is and what a loser/moron/etc the old man is.

What does Sandra B and kat got to do with this site? If you hate Jesse James so much give a valid reason apart from you manlove Jr.
You can’t build a bigger gas tank than he did when you have the exhaust system running through it which on it;s own makes it unrideable.
You show total ignorance to Choppers and their history when you keep claiming James couldn’t see over the handlebars and clearly have some insecurity problems(are you a little shorty?).
Choppers were made to be driven more than 20 miles but were never built to be comfortable.Even the M.C.of the show admitted if the voters were ‘real’ bikers that James would have won hands down.
Take of the blinkers, remember that the animosity is scripted and enjoy the show for what it is…scripted drama.

What is it with you American Chopper haters,i didn`t specify what bike they could have a larger tank for,the tank on the bike that won the competition was a great tank for that bike,i can understand why your all in such a bad mood,it must be hard for you to get over the fact that your hero jesse james got beat,i understand that, but all this hate you must let go,although its a show, its keeping an interest on the American bike scene, dont you understand that, think back in the begining, the bikes they built had good size tanks,as i said before, look at the blues bike that Mikey and Vinnie built,i have seen some big tanks and that was a good size tank,i was just making an observation about Sandra Bullock and Kat Von D,they both have one thing in common, and thats that scumbag jesse james,he only did this show to try and get back on the Tv,otherwise he would not have done it,now your making assumptions about jesse james wining,he could not see over the bars,he couldn`t even see over the headlight, someone give him a booster seat,he`s got a big mouth and it got shut, people are fed up with this B grade Tv celeb,no one wants to see him on Tv,lets just hope he gets the hint,as for kat,he used her and LA ink in the hope he could rejuvenate his Tv career, pure and simple, hes not a hero, there are better people out there that deserve to be put on a peddle stool,as you are a jesse james super fan i understand your frustration and you would like to turn back the clock and see your hero win,but he didn`t,get over it,the bikes that Jr build are what the customer wants,is he meant to turn away good business just to please a few people that hate the show,if you hate it that much dont watch it,turn the channel over, its not hard, and dont comment on what has become a fan site for Jr,thats what its turned into and it will only get better now that he has beat jesse james, end off…………….

Without the dysfunctionality of the ‘cast’ the show would have failed many years ago and the producers will do whatever they need to to keep ratings which at the end of the day is all they care about.
Let’s see who is still building bikes in 5 years.
Your fascination with and many assumptions about others feelings for Jr show that you are in no position to debate without bias so please let other people have their opinions and thoughts without you ranting.

Now here is one thing we can agree on,if the show is to last,it has to have both shops,if you take one shop out the show it wont last long, and i have been saying all along to leave it as it is,its the way it works best.in 5 years time,if the old man can get himself out if the rut he is in,then both shops will still be building bikes, even if the show does not last that long,i respect your opinon even if most of it i dont agree with, but its still your opinion and you have every right to voice it…….

None of you know anything ‘real’ about anyone on the shows so why all the name calling?
How would you lot react if your personal life was suddenly put under a microscope and your every move filmed?Well firstly if you act like you do here in real life you would be name calling and badmouthing arrogant jerks..just like the people you complain about.

Good point Bikeman. This is a well known characteristic of “forums” like this (along with comment drift). People say things they never would say face to face because they feel safe and pretty much free of consequences except the disdain of other commenters. I also think there is a contagion factor. That is, one outburst tends to trigger outbursts by others, specially when the original outburst is a personal attack.

That said, I would draw a line between comments made about the “cast” and comments made about other posters. Personal attacks on other posters rather than arguments about what they have posted are out of order and have no place in forums like this. If this forum were moderated, they would not appear.

On the other hand, the Teutels and he who shall not be named are fair game. They have agreed to appear on this public program, can quit whenever they want, are undoubtedly paid, and get the benefit for their businesses of a lot of publicity. They are fair game. It comes with the territory. Yes, most of the comments you are talking about are juvenile, but in my opinion, the cast are fair game.

That said, can we please raise the level of discourse here? Count to 10 before you hit that Submit Comment button.

Bikeman, You mean like how tough you’re talking from behind your keyboard? Your points may well be valid, except that I agree with Rick. That agreement is both in regard to comments made about the personalities on the ASC shows and the folks who post here.

You choose to put your family’s personal lives on public display for 8 or so years, with some very clear dividing lines and add a forum like the 4 that Screenrant has offered here and you’re bound to get some pretty strong opinions. Frankly, most of these TV pages have a pretty short life expectancy. That this and the other 3 have lasted this long kind of says something.

As far as the commentary goes, you make your decisons based on the information you get.

My gripe is posters calling people ‘Morons’ and ‘Scumbags’ when all they really know about them is what the media has allowed them to know and I certainly wouldn’t expect,In fact i know that none of the posters would repeat it to the faces of those concerned.
There has to be some limits on what ‘celebrities’ should have to endure especially when it’s from people who have no idea of what really happens in their private lives.
A final point and it’s one that you can only take my word for is that I am more than willing to repeat anything I post on here to anyone involved.

For the money celebrities are getting paid to sell their souls to the devil by putting their personal lives and indiscretions out there for the world to see are all fair game as far as I’m concerned. Plus you don’t know what I or anyone else would say to some celeb standing 6′ away from them. If they’re a scumbag they’re a scumbag plain and simple and I would them to their face, they put their pants on one leg at a time just like any other man. So stop assuming that everyone will act or react as you would.
A lot of celebs could care less what you and I think of them and I can understand that, they’re there for the money and have a short time to capitalize on their fame or infamy if you will.

I don’t know how much clearer it could be. I apologize in advance for the overly long sentence structure.

Both by implication and inference, referring to the people who post their opinions on a TV show, which is, by the way, the purpose of this forum, as “sad losers”, then denigrating them for hiding behind their collective keyboards and talking tough, seems both hypocritical and pretentious.

I do not dispute the fact that people will do that. Maybe they do here, but I’ve been on this board for a long time and for the most part haven’t seen it. However….

“…trust me I know first hand exactly how people who use forums react when they meet ‘face to face’ and although never ‘pretty’ it’s usually amusing.”

I feel the “Live Build Off” as they dubbed it, was alot of theatrics to keep the viewing audience interested. All three are great bike builders in their own rite. Jesse James has been around a long time and he found an opportunity to try and get back into the public eye, I think his time is over and should be just a fond memory like Indian Larry. Senior is clueless when it comes to a build off competition, they built a nice toy that any pyro-maniac would love to own. Junior is an artist, he does not build bikes he builds rolling mechanical sculptures. In my opinion he and his crew have an incredible collective talent.
As for the way their family functions, it is what it is….I’ve seen worse and I’ve lived worse….I wish them all well, including Jesse… I do enjoy Jesse’s sarcasm…..haha…

Those who get too excited about the show really need to stand back, take a deep breath and remind yourselves that it’s as much a drama as general hospital or for the other side of the pond coronation street.
Jesse was bought onto the show because it would improve ratings, simple.
The court case is over, the shouting’s all but stopped so what to do now?
Oprah will probably make her comeback as a builder and Elvis will haunt the site of the new OCC shop and stop construction and then maybe one day the family will reunite on TV and get back to screaming and shouting.
Like it was said earlier PJD would not survive as a show on its own.
