Could someone help me out? Someone please give me a summarized explanation about the deal with Captain Marvel(the ONLY character from both Marvel and DC), The Flash, and Ms. Marvel all sporting the lightning bolt. The Flash I can understand. But what’s with the word Marvel and lightning? Or is it just random craziness

I would go with a relatively unknown for Cap like they are doing with Thor. Yeah hemsworth was in star trek for ten minutes but nobody really knew about him before that one scene. They can make it work with an actor that has a serious tone to him and is a decent actor.
