The Marvel gods have blessed us this day, releasing new posters for Thor: RagnarokThe film marks the third solo outing for the God of Thunder Thor (Chris Hemsworth), his trickster half-brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and the All Father Odin (Anthony Hopkins). This time they are joined by science bro Bruce Banner/the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), the warrior Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), and the Goddess of Death, Hela (Cate Blanchett)

Visually Thor: Ragnarok looks like nothing we've seen so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie's posters and screenshots have been stunning with bright neon colors and Jack Kirby-inspired visuals, while the Ragnarok trailers have been action-packed and feature director Taika Waititi's signature sense of humor. The film's marketing campaign, along with the social media posts from the cast, have helped Ragnarok dominate social media despite the fact that the release date is still two months away.

This only looks to continue with the 8 new posters Marvel has released from the film, each spotlighting a different character. The colors of the posters continue the previous trend, with bright neons - an this time, each character gets their own signature hue. There's Thor in red, a power color known for strength and blood and war. Loki gets yellow, interestingly a color usually reserved for the mild (Hufflepuffs) or cowards (yellow-bellied is a term for a reason). Hulk of course has his trademark green. Odin is bathed in gold which suits his status. Hela's poster is purple, the color usually reserved for royalty. Valkyrie is in teal while the Grandmaster is in a darker shade of blue - perhaps hinting at their connection. And Heimdall (Idris Elba) makes an apperance as well, in orange.

These posters don't give us any additional information about the film, but they do show Marvel's commitment to keeping the movie brightly colored. They also give each character a chance to shine - a smart thing to do since the cast is so impressive, with the likes of Oscar winning actress Blanchett playing Marvel's first female movie villain. Plus who doesn't want a closer look at Hulk in his gladiator armor or a fierce Valkyrie or fan-favorite Goldblum looking striking as the Grandmaster (who may have more to him than a passing glance would suggest).

As the film gets closer, the hype for Thor: Ragnarok is only going to grow stronger. Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther are the only Marvel films that stand between the release of Avengers: Infinity War next May. It's safe to bet that some of what happens in Ragnarok will have ramifications that change the course of the MCU and set its characters on their collision course with Thanos (Josh Brolin). The fate of the nine realms will soon be revealed and it's anyone guess what that will entail.
