On Saturday at Comic-Con 2010, Marvel Studios brought the house down with one of the biggest and most exciting panels in Comic-Con history. Not only was it the first time we witnessed footage from The First Avenger: Captain America and Thor, but we met the core cast behind The Avengers.

Captain America had only been shooting for 8 days so we didn’t get to see much, but Thor has been in production since early this year and we had the chance to watch a full five minute trailer, showcasing nearly all of the characters of the film in many scenes both on Earth and in Asgard. Now, you can watch that footage too and see what had fans going crazy over the weekend.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh and written by Ashley Miller and Don Payne, Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Rene Russo, Clark Gregg, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Tadanobu Asano, Joshua Dallas and Joe Gatt.

Watch and enjoy while you can:

UPDATE: Since Viacom screwed us on YouTube by reporting us for a copyright violation of a video WE shot of the public Tranformers 3 Chicago set, we’ve decided to pull this Thor video since it was not officially released by the studio.

Notice how much better the costumes look and work in live-action as opposed to those Thor stills which released prior to Comic-Con. We also get to see the helmets of the main characters which also had many worried.

I totally dig the aesthetic and costume designs now that I see how they look, especially in the Asgardian locations. The Warriors Three, Sif, Loki, Odin all look good after seeing this trailer and most importantly, Chris Hemsworth totally nails Thor. He is the God of Thunder.

  1. Lol yea Ken it was a complete guess I havnt bought either in years so I don’t know how much any of it costs. Never used a laser mouse in my life. I usually use optical but my 5 year old one finally broke so I’m using a ball mouse lol.

As far as keyboard I have the most basic of basics. No short cut keys nothing. It’s as basic as basic gets it’s what I’m used to I’m a creature of habit it’d what I’ve used my entire life I’d probably have a heart attack if my keyboard suddenly had an extra button lol. I really hate the odd shaped ones yikes.

  2. Thor is a superb hand-to-hand combatant, and also skilled in armed combat, excelling in the use of the war hammer, sword and mace. Thor possesses two items which assist him in combat: the enchanted Belt of Strength, and his mystical hammer Mjolnir. The first item doubles Thor’s strength and endurance while the second is used to control his weather abilities; flight; energy projection and absorption; dimensional apertures; matter manipulation and the most powerful of his offensives, the God Blast (which taps into Thor’s life force and has driven back a weakened Galactus), the Thermo-blast (which has challenged Ego the Living Planet), and the Anti-Force (which counteracts another force). Using Mjolnir, Thor can also travel at supersonic speeds in Earth’s atmosphere and travel faster than light in space. How much can they fit in this movie? I’m happy with just 1/2 of this stuff if it’s in the movie…I do see an epic picture forming here…Think Lord of the Rings meets Independence Day.

  3. I would like to thanks Chris Hemsworth for taking 6 monthes to make sure he got the look right along with the acting. Now the movie will have a chance at being very good.

  4. Ok, just saw it on the Spanish website. It was good but far from stellar. Hopefully Branaugh has left the epic battles for the movie. I didn’t really see a problem with Asgard; it was shiny, yes, but that’s because it was made of gold.

I’m ready for the Captain America trailer now. :-)

  5. What the hell is the song playing in that footage? I want me some of that. That was the best thing in that footage.

    • Been looking for weeks now, still haven’t found it. Won’t SOMEBODY help!?

  6. The trailer looks good :) im excited to see this. since i havent read or seen the comics i dont care much about how asgard or the costumes look. i dont get bummed if they dont look exactly like the comics. so i guess that benefits me! yay :)

  7. You know what’s really great? I grew up reading this and many more comics. My son now is doing the same. Call it nerdy or geeky… Call it what you want but we enjoy it. So we do care that they get Asgard right, That Thor looks like a pro-wrestler in a cape and hammer, and that they are preparing for some sort of major cross-over movie here. So do I care of course I care Marvel has spend most of the last 30 years painting these pictures in my mind I think I should care. So Yay for me too.
