As much as I love most of the chosen cast, how much is going to be spent on Actor salaries that will take away from film production?!?!
  • Tim "Cloverfield"
    Mr. Stevenson....spot on!
  • M-Cat
This is a good sign. I like when they cast actors that aren't huge names. It's starting to remind me of LOTR.

    Manowar

the only one getting a large salary for this movie is Anthony Hopkins possibly and he hasn't even signed on yet. They are still in negotiations.
  • Branagh continues the pre-streak of awesome with more great casting news.

    Thor FTW
  • roger
well, i'd like to say i called that, but not even close.
guess that's why i'm in the seats and not behind the camera.
and i will be in the seats for this one..bring it.
oh, sorry. i mean "so be it!"
  • Bangarang
I dind't know that asian people were once part of the viking society.
  • Silvereagle
Wow, Thor movies just keeps looking better and better with these casting choices. My hopes are high for this one!

Btw Bangarang, I think Hogun has been portraid for a long time as a kind of Mongul/Samurai warrior in the comics, so I can see why they would go with an asian actor.
  • Manowar
    @ Bangarang

Apparently Viking Society also consisted of Trolls, Elves, Dwarves and Dragons... :)

If your a marvel Thor reader, you'd understand about the Asian(Mongolesque) casting.
  • Andy S
Great choices, IMO. The cast of THOR is shaping up to be otherworldly. :D
  • Stephie
After reading this bit of awesome casting news ... I'm definitely there for this movie!

    Thor is gonna be SWEET!
    So be it! :)
  • Ken J
RAY STEVENSON!! Bring it on Titus Pullo!! Woot, this is GREAT news! I hope they stick with Stevenson, he needs his big break.
  • Josh Rose
Hmmm, great choices, but I was pretty sure that Branagh would have taken the Fandrall role himself. I'm not too familiar with the character, but judging based solely on the picture in the header, and the fact that Branagh is one of the most versatile actors living today, I think he could have easily played him.
  • Gary
    Looking better all the time.
  • Now that Ray Stevenson has been cast I'm going to see it!
  • Robby
jeez anyone who's in a punisher movie totally goes and does another marvel movie. Sup with that dude bra bro
  • Phil
I didn't bother watching Punisher: War Zone but I loved Ray Stevenson in the Rome series. I think he's a better fit for Volstagg's personality than Frank Castle, although he still seems a bit of an odd casting choice to me for that role.

But either way he can probably make it work and I'm definitely there on opening day.
  • I love Ray Stevenson, but I am a little surprised by him being picked for Volstagg. Still, he's a great actor, and overall, I'm getting more and more excited about "Thor." I think this film has the chance to offer something unique to moviegoers. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  • This film has an absolutely amazing cast, I am really excited abouted seeing it. This film will be something different, in a good way, that was clear from the moment Brannagh was announced as director.

SHould be something special. This is easily my most anticipated comic book movie after Iron Man 2. Spiderman and X men are dead to me until they get new casts.
  • lastdrag0n89
This movie has picked up steam fast and looks better and better with each announcement. cant wait!
  • Jesse
Well the question still stands whos going to play as Thor himself? I would personally choose Karl Urban or Triple H b/c they seem to have great potential for this role.
  • DrSamBeckett
Uh Jesse, they cast Thor ages ago!
  • greenknight333
I think Cary Elwes would have been a better choice to play Fandral...
  • Ken J
One last thing, they better use th modern version of Volstagg instead of the "cowardly" version because we need to see Stevenson kicking major ass, not stumbling around...
  • Manowar
OMG they just cast Heimdall and boy are you all in for a surprise!!!
