Thor: Ragnarok star Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi take fans behind the scenes of Marvel's next blockbuster in a new video. The God of Thunder, Thor (Hemsworth), was first introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by way of Kenneth Branagh's 2011 solo film, Thor. It wasn't the most well liked MCU Phase 1 film, but it was instrumental to setting up the main conflict of The Avengers - which featured Thor uniting with Earth's Mightiest Heroes to take on his brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston). The second solo film for the God of Thunder, Alan Taylor's Thor: The Dark World, was dour and, again, not one of the MCU's more successful movies in terms of critical and fan response.

However, Waititi's upcoming entry looks to turn the Thor solo series around, with the Thor: Ragnarok trailers showing off an exceptionally bright, colorful, and fun adventure taking place in Asgard and beyond. Plus, the third Thor film will have the added benefit of some exciting characters joining the mix, including the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), Skurge (Karl Urban), and the villainous Hela (Cate Blanchett). Now, a new video takes fans behind the scenes on Marvel's next upcoming MCU entry.

Marvel Entertainment released the behind the scenes video [above], which features interviews with Hemsworth, Waititi, and Ruffalo from the set of Thor: Ragnarok - plus plenty of shots of Hemsworth, Waititi, and Hiddleston goofing off while filming the Marvel blockbuster. Hemsworth discusses what makes Ragnarok so different from the other Thor films, revealing that the new characters bring a different "energy" to the threequel. While Waititi discussed his take on the Thor franchise, saying, "I wanted to take people on a ride and inject some comedy into it, and adventure that keeps people laughing along the way, but also has the spectacle and the stuff that it gets people excited."

Certainly, buzz for the film has been growing since Waititi was brought on board the project - and since the colorful '80s-inspired logo for Thor: Ragnarok was unveiled at Comic-Con International in San Diego back in 2016. The logo was one of the first hints that Thor: Ragnarok won't be like the previous Thor films set in the MCU, but it wouldn't be the last. Every trailer and clip from the God of Thunder's next installment, including this latest behind the scenes video, help to remind viewers that Waititi's entry seems to fall more in line with James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy than Branagh and Taylor's movies.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether Thor: Ragnarok will live up to the buzz surrounding the film, which is especially great considering it ranked as Fandango's most anticipated movie of the fall. With the third Thor film not set to hit theaters until early November, we have yet to see any reviews of early reactions trickle in, so it remains to be seen how successful Waititi is in reinvigorating the Thor series. Still, as we get closer to ThorRagnarok hitting theaters, those reactions and reviews will begin to surface and fans will have a better idea of what to expect. If the videos and trailers are any indication, Thor: Ragnarok may be Marvel's most fun adventure yet.
