Marvel Marketing Thor to Women

Superhero movies are known to do very well at the box office, but they’re primarily seen by men. So in an attempt to bring more women out to the theater this weekend, Marvel is changing their marketing strategy.

  1. lol I saw Thor 2 about 2 days ago and I don’t understand why people keep insisting that it was essentially a “Loki movie”. *SPOILERS* Loki did almost nothing in the movie and the only characters the movie was focused on were Thor, Jane Foster and Malekith. Loki gets “killed” off quickly and then reappears at the very end. So it was like 40 minutes without Loki. Lol people, get off Loki’s dick already. It’s getting old.

    • Hey man keep Thor spoilers on the Thor’s spoiler page for some of us who haven’t seen the movie yet. I understand you put “spoilers” in your comment but come on.

      • People who want no spoilers should stay away from ScreenRant, anyway. Also, it’s not hard to stop reading once you read *SPOILERS*…

    • I still don’t understand Loki’s popularity.

Sure, he’s a cool character played by a great actor but the fact that he’s overrated so much makes me wonder why he’s elevated so much in people’s minds and put on a pedestal.

But yeah, it’s definitely not The Loki Show. Probably is only to those who only care about Loki to the detriment of other characters for whatever weird reasons.

      • I think you are massively underestimating the amount of female fans Tom Hiddleston attracted because of his portrayal of Loki. Loki is now a mayjor reason why so many teenage/twentysomething girls are flocking to this movie. He has the same type of effect that male characters in Japanese Shojo manga and anime.

He has brought in a large female demographic to these Marvel movies. Many of the female audience aren’t really brooding over Thor’s beefcake, but Loki’s slightly androgynous elfin look and charm.

  2. The master pickpocket thing was just WOW.
BTW That Disney attraction reminded me that Thor never wore his helmet on Dark World (oops, sorry for the Spoiler)..

How s***** is that!, It is a very cool helmet.
But of course we know that Marvel does indeed market their films for female audiences after all by showing just the beautifully crafted face of Hemsworth…

    • *Spoiler*

You notice Loki didn’t wear his helmet either. Not even in illusion form.

      • he was imprisoned. how could he wear his helmet….

        • That’s why I specifically said “even in his illusion form”! Like in “The Avengers” where he can switch between his armour and his regular robes at will.
