I've been watching the show since I was 1 year old and I can't wait 'till the movie comes out. Let's face it, Thomas could stand an overhaul. I think it would interest kids who are now used to things like Spongebob and Chowder more than something like we'we seen before. Remember that HIT has to know where Thomas gets his coal and water.

I'm sorry, but I make meet nowhere halfway on this point.

Anyone who considers themselves a fan of Thomas, and isn't dismayed with the abandonment of the novel models, in favour of hip and contemporary CGI BS fails to understand the true beauty of the show to being with. This is a total disgrace, baked up by corporate halfwits on lowest denomination panels.

If you want to freshen up Thomas, do it properly. This is exactly the same kind of stupidity as a "live-action" THUNDERBIRDS. Way to miss the point, dullards.

I actually don't this happening. A true fan is someone that watches a show and enjoys it, no matter what types of changes are made. I've loved Thomas since I was little, and I still love him today. Even though I'm going to miss the models, the CGI is pretty neat.

In fact, I'm so excited, that I'm p*ssed off about the film not having any updates!! How 'bout some updates HIT? Do I have to wait until Misty Island Rescue to see a trailer? Come on! I'm sick of waiting!!! RRRRGGGHHH!!! >:O

But patience is a virtue. I guess I can wait a few months.

[...] It seems no childhood franchise is safe from being re-imagined (and, more often than not, ruined) for the movies. Now comes news from The Hollywood Reporter that a Thomas the Tank Engine film will be arriving in theaters once in spring 2011. This will not be the Thomas you acquired up with on PBS. The hokey yet cool, old-school awkward models are being advanced in favor of – you guessed it- CGI and alive actors. And not just the appear is changing; In advance of the film, a fresh animated series will comely to TV next yr that affords a voice to Thomas, Toby, James, and the rest of the traditionally dumb train gang. Chances are the feature movie will do as is. Though the prospect of a blacker, gritty, more industrialised Thomas has appeal, think Thomas the Tank on tour. You know, the post-apocalyptic aesthetic HIT Entertainment, which owns the “Thomas & Friends” world, chartered Josh Klausner to write the screenplay. Klausner penned Shrek the Third and the upcoming Shrek Forever After. So, expect dialogue that panders to the under-five set with a few titter-worthy double entendres every so often to keep the adults from killing themselves. And who lives, maybe the trains will sing and dance too…Or not. Thomas is the world’s about popular preschool attribute, and so this revise won’t mess with the makes key elements: “positive values, timeless examples and rich train story,” according to Julia Pistor, the head of HIT Movies. (Rich train story? These are anthropomorphous, talking trains. What alternative history is this woman talking about?) Still, HIT hopes Klausner reads the movie into a “thrilling, big, modern adventure film,” and honestly, this affair has legs. Thomas accepts been running the rails for the 1940’s, and with gas prices the way they’re, trains may have a Advent. Besides, brief boys like big machines, and Thomas has attracted some big adverts in the past: Ringo Starr, George Carlin, Alec Baldwin, and Pierce Brosnan all recited or appeared in the television series. So far, no workers are attached, but I would not be surprised seeing about famous family guy, like, say, Brad Pitt, donning a tux to play Sir Topham Hatt. alternative music source [...]

I know that Vic but still come on, next Bananas in Pajamas Little Bear or Arthur is going to be on the big screen, then all of my childhood will have had a nationally released movie, I can understand straight to DVD but big screen come on. (My childhood was PowRangers, TtTE, TMNT, Batman, X-Men, and Where the Wild Things Are(which I am looking forward to).

Just come up with something new. I shouldn't be that hard to entertain 1-7 year olds, here I just got something, a talking (insert random object/animal here) and give it a talking sidekick that is smaller than it.
