I completely agree taht although it was a reasonable film Tom Hanks was mis-cast in this film.

How long has he had to work on it? How many drafts has he been through?

Even being paid that much doesn’t guarantee a script won’t need revisions and won’t have to go through a few drafts, just like any other script.
