I hope it will be good.

But the feel of the trailer gives me a slight Van Helsing or Pirates of the Caribbean feel. I can’t tell how serious of a drama/horror story it is….and seems to have a feel of adventure/horror…which for me, tends to drown out the actual horror, due to the silly adventure aspect.

Been waiting to see a decent man to wolf transformation on film for twenty years plus and now we may just have one. Using CGI to enhance prosthetics rather than replace them looks fantastic.
It’s got a great cast, looks the biz and now I’m officially buzzing. Can’t wait.

The Rocketeer was an amazingly good film, and what I loved most was Johnston’s attention to detail. He had such a feel for the era in which the story took place (1940′s) and a great respect for the comic book, and he brought it to such vivid life, so he’s the perfect choice to direct The First Avenger – Captain America. Can’t wait to see it!

You’ll really enjoy The Rocketeer, and Timothy Dalton is a smooth, sexy bad guy in this one. I’m going to see if it’s avilable on DVD, ’cause my VHS tape is on its last legs.

With you on The Rocketeer, Stephie. It’s a real shame it was made before the current wave of comic book adaptations – I think it’s one of the best. Joe Johnston’s faithfulness to the original comics, his attention to period detail, and willingness to stand his ground against studio interference with some of his casting decisions, all seem to bode well for a Captain America movie set in WWII.

I agree with you about Danny Elfman’s very disappointing scores for Hellboy II and Terminator Salvation, and I hope that his score for The Wolfman will erase the memory of those two terrible soundtracks. Normally, I love Mr. Elfman’s film music, but with the exception of Wanted (which I liked), last year wasn’t a very good one for him from a musical standpoint.

Joe Johnston will direct the Captain America movie (I really enjoyed The Rocketeer). Can’t wait to see who finally gets chosen to play Cap.
