I’m going to add my vote of confidence in Joe Johnston. The Rocketeer is one of my favorite movies, and I have no doubt that he’ll do a great job with it. Since Cap is going to be a period film, Johnston will be a stickler for detail, and he’ll not only capture the era quite well, but he’ll do his best to make it an enjoyable film.

However.. the biggest hurdle is going to be casting the film, especially the role of Cap, and since we haven’t heard anything on that front, I’m wondering when we’ll hear more about that.

Hate to disappoint you but they are using CGI for the wolf, but just using it more effectively than I have seen before.

I’m not worried about Captain America being in the hands of Joe Johnston, espicially as it is going to be a period film, he made one of my favourite films. The Rocketeer. This is a guy who can handle big bidgets and effects, but also knows how to keep the audiance involved with the characters. He will do a good job on Captain America, its the casting on that one which is the biggest obstacle.

The previous troubles w/this film have me worried about more than just the final product of this movie. It also has me a little worried about the final product of another movie he will have control of: Captain America. It definitely has me a little on edge.

At last… an R-rated horror movie which promises to be good. I’m thrilled that make-up is being used for the transformation of the Wolfman. A nice throwback to AWIL.

I originally thought Universal would water the movie down for the PG-13 rating in order to make it more “family-friendly”, but after having sat through too many wimpy PG-13 “horror” movies, I’m delighted that The Wolfman is getting the R-rating which this kind of dark, Gothic horror story deserves.

Yep … I’m there!

I love that this movie is getting an R-rating for gore and violence, I’m almost positive adults would be the larger audience to this movie than teens anyways. I thought that the second trailer was a lot more action packed and I liked it more, but the first trailer had that shot where he is chanig, which is really cool.

Is anyone else at all excited that they used make-up in stead of CGI-ing the wolfman all together (ie: Twilight)?

My mistake… i was refering to the comment on the “test screening” I guess I interpreted that to meaning hes already seen the movie. I just found it hard to believe considering its still ways off

I think its the period setting in this that makes me want to see it, not another attempt to modernise an original story, and I have many reservations about remakes in general, the original is 70 years old. So its ok.

Saw the test screening of this recently at WB.. Not Universal..

While it aint the greatest Werewolf film ever made but its close, its big and classy with good photography with some very cool visual effects and good performances.
Van Helsing it aint!
I hear they booted they original editor off because the film had major pacing problems and Walter Murch has fixed it as far as I can see..
really cool..

Excellent, excellent, excellent!
The R-Rating is a must for a film like this.
You could establish the gothic mood and atmosphere with the Wolfman but out of all the monsters, personally I feel the Wolfman should be an R only to establish the primal essence of the character.

Its the first posetive thing I have heard about this for while. After all the recent trouble with this film, it is good to hear it will at least be a decent horror flick.
But the calibre of people involved makes me very interested to see the final result, Joe Johnston is a decent director, and this showcase his abilities to those worried about Captain America.
