  1. Love the podcast. I like to listen while I ride the bike trail. I’ll be downloading this on my iPhone and riding along with Screen Rant this afternoon.

I have one suggestion to possibly spice up the podcast. I feel that the Box Office Battle needs a bigger stake. Just giving the winner of the BOB, final word on the movie review is a bit …….. dull.

    How about this:

The winner of the BOB gets to make the loser (or all the losers) watch a movie and include it next week in their Rants and Raves. This movie spanking could be a movie fave of the winner that the other guy(s) don’t want to see. OR a real stinker of a movie to provide some serious pain to the psyche of the loser. Something truly awful. This could be fun. I love when you guys bash bad movies….. it’s probably the most amusing part of Screen Rant.

For instance what if the winner (Ben Kendrick) won the BOB and chose “The Creeping Terror” for loser (Anthony Ocasio) to watch and review for his next weeks Rant and Raves. Imagine the hilarity that would ensue. The Creeping Terror is a very low budget, black and white, B movie. Horrendous in every way. This movie is so bad it’s actually funny….. me and the wife laughed like maniacs when we watched it and still quote the bad dialog to each other.

    What do you think?

    • ^Awesome idea!

    • I like it.

      • Better watch it Kofi…… if you lose BOB the winner might make you watch Doctor Who.

        • Kofi can lose all he wants…. YOU can get Kofi to watch Doctor Who, not me. ;-)

        • @Kofi: Or they might make you watch the entire extended version of the LotR trilogy ;)

          • That would make a good stinger for Anthony too.

            “Little people are SCARY!”

            • Damn, that’s what I meant… I keep mixing up Kofi and Anthony’s voices. They sound almost exactly the same with my crappy speakers.

    • I’d be open to the idea. Only problem is making sure that everyone has access to the content (and the time to watch one more thing).

I’ll definitely run it by the guys.

Maybe we can give up to a month for someone to view the movie/TV that’s forced on them. That’ll give everyone a bit more time to get it done.

      • So many bad movies…… so little time……

Since I’m a Horror B movie fan there are plenty of stingers available for that genre:

        Robot Monster
Plan 9 From Outer Space (or any Ed Wood movie)
        The Creeping Terror
        The Crater Lake Monster
        Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
Godzilla/Gamera/Monster Zero… etc. (Japanese men fighting in rubber suits)
        Troll 2
** Any of these would make the average movie fan wish for a return of the 90 minutes of their life stolen from them.

        Other god-awful “masterpieces”
Pink Flamingos (or almost any early John Waters movies…. Desperate Living is another one)
The Room (you’ve talked about this one Ben)
        Gigli (ewww)

A lot of websites out there devoted to bad cinema.

I would limit the length of the stinger. Watching a whole season of some horrible 70′s TV show like Nanny and the Professor or Threes Company (oh my GOD!!) I think that would be too much torture. No more than 2 or 3 hours perhaps?

      • Since Rob Keyes tends to win the BOB a lot lately he could force the loser to watch bad Canadian cinema like “Bon Cop, Bad Cop,” “Canadian Bacon” or ” Phil the Alien.”

And the reverse could be fun too…… make Rob watch and review Canadian movies when he loses.

And Rob…. I actually like Canada a LOT, so no disrespect for the Great White North. I have a distant ancestor who fought in Canada’s Revolutionary war against the British. He was captured, tortured and sent to a penal colony in Tasmania. He survived (barely) to tell the tale. I’ve got the documents. Would make a great script, but I don’t know about the Canadian Film industry right now……?
