Actually this film is using the exact same immersion 3D technology as was used in Avatar.

There are four people in that picture because the novel centers around not only the three musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis but the main character is actually D’Artagnan who is a 19 year old musketeer wannabe. He befriends the musketeers.

You are right! Matthew Macfadyen is a wonderful actor…He is very serious about every role and will “create” a complex Athos. I can’t wait! From the pics I’ve seen, the movie looks pretty classy! They are filming on location, in Germany, so it has an authentic feeling to it. They’ve managed to recreate the XVII-th century Paris to perfection!

I for one can not wait to see this!! Only to know that Matthew Macfadyen (Mr. Darcy, Prior Philip) is playing Athos is enough reason to root for this film. As for the 3D I actually think it’s perfect for this movie, hopefully Anderson does it service. Yes the Three Musketeers is actually four guys Athos, Porthos, Aramis and D’Artagnan who joins in later, it’s called TTM because D’Artagnan meets them as that. Logan Lerman will be one young looking D’Artagnan, Orlando Bloom will probably be a great Buckingham, he has the type, as for Milla as Milay, we’ll have to wait and see. So excited for filming to begin. Is it 2011 yet?

Well, I have read a lot of negative comments about the director and to be honest I have not watched any of his movies, but it concerns me that he is undertaking a project such as this. The Three Musketeers is on of my favorite books of all times and I love all the characters in it and the idea of “modernizing’ them doesn’t appeal to me at all! I hope he doesn’t destroy the story. I’m glad to hear that he is interested in the romantic part of it, since I am a Matthew Macfadyen fan and he will be playing Ahot what else can I ask for. I will patiently wait for another long year.

Anxious to see this much “beloved” Icon-Writer Alexandre Dumas Classic “The Three Musketeer’s” brought to the big screen, again & in 3D! Fame filmmaker/screenwriter Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil fanchise film, etc.,.) will be perfect to take on this adventureous reigns. Looking forward to seeing the legendary Icon ALEXANDRE’ DUMAS characters: D’Artagnan,Athos, Aramis & Porthos come to life again, on the big screen in whom when writting this adventure “The 3 Musketeer’s” put alot of his father’s/General Alexandre Dumas Adventure’s into his “many” Classic treasure Litertures. So looking forward to 2011/I love Alexandre’ Dumas Classic books: hopefully one day something can be done with “The Forty-five” & Chicot the Jester!

Hopefully the action in this movie is similar to the one in “the musketeer”… That was cool in my opinion. Oh and ken j… With the 4th guy in there if i recall there used to be this guy that kinda helped the three musketeers be the three musketeers ( kinda like anthony hopkins training banderas to be zorro type of thing). Or it could be just some slacky that helps them when they can’t go into a certain place without being recognized…

Most likely, unlike the immersive use of 3D like with Avatar, this would fall under the gimmicky use of 3D category, with swords in the face constantly I bet…

The Three Musketeers seems like an odd fit for a 3D film.
I think 3D works better for visually oriented films like Avatar.
But The Three Musketeers ?
I just dont see it .
Oh,I am not saying Avatar doiesnt have a compelling story.
But it also has a large visual component which would probably work well in 3D.

Ross the point of doing this in 3D is too slowly acclimate 3D into ALL movies.

Support 3D films now and 3D will be all there is in a matter of 5 years.

Sony is already prepared to sell 3D tvs late next year.
This 3D takeover is real,,, if people vote with there dollars to not see 3D films it might slow this takeover down. If all the 3D films tank, 3D can be stopped…
