• This sounds intriguing...

    Not sure how I feel about a Lovecraft-related flick being directed by Howard but at least he should have the heft to allow this film to have a decent budget. I'm vaguely optimistic.

    Ron Howard eh? does this mean I'll FINALLY get to see the Fonzie vs Cthulhu fight I've been waiting for all these years?

    @DarthMalnu

    You mean you missed the Fonzie V Cthulu PPV special the other week? Man, it was awesome. ;)

    Very wary on this one. On the one hand it could be the best Lovecraftian piece ever made and on the other... it could suck planets :( I'm going to hope for the former though and get all needlessly excited! :P
  • LOL @DarthMalnu. VERY funny. :-D

    Unrequited love? Are you kidding me? That's .... so .... stupid. Please, if you're going to make anything about Lovecraft, whether it be fiction or otherwise, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, don't make it stupid and sappy. I highly doubt Lovecraft would approve of that foolishness.

    And... pessimistic? Hah. Have you read ANYTHING he's ever written? It's REALISTIC - not pessimistic.

    Anyway, no thank you. That unrequited love part makes me shudder and gag. It's like giving Sherlock Holmes a love interest. It's just... wrong.

    I'll just wait for the film version of At The Mountains of Madness. If that one's anything like the book, then there won't be any unneeded feelings like love. Eurgh.
  • Ron Howard's biggest films were Willow, Splash and Backdraft? Are you kidding me? Try Frost/Nixon, Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind. Remember these from Oscar night?
