One of the best movie marketing campaigns of the year has undoubtedly been the promo campaign for Disney’s The Muppets, which has returned Jim Henson’s beloved puppet characters to the limelight with their classic irreverent humor still intact.

If you haven’t seen the Muppet parody trailers of films like The Hangover 2, Girl With The Dragon Tattoo or Green Lantern, we suggest you click those links we just slipped in there and do so now. They’ll help you fully appreciate the sly winking humor of the this, the final Muppet parody trailer (for this Muppet film, at least).

If you don’t know, check out the story for The Muppets below, and then, the trailer:

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways.

If you haven’t seen them, be sure to check out these other Muppet promos:

Even though you may not have heard, this film will also feature a plethora of celebrity cameos, including the likes of Danny Trejo, Ed Helms, Mila Kunis, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Rashida Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, Neil Patrick Harris, Jack Black, and Zach Galifianakis – among others. Keep your eyes peeled.

Now matter how this movie turns out, that trailer was right about one thing: It has been one heck of a year having The Muppets back on the scene.

The Muppets will be in theaters on November 23rd.
