Finally, someone in Hollywood decided to make a movie about me and my friends in high school and appropriately titled it The Losers. *Friend whispers in my ear* What? Hold on a sec everyone – it’s not? Are you sure because the title says… *friend nods head*…OK my bad.

I have been corrected. The new trailer for the action film The Losers apparently is NOT about me and my friends but rather revolves around a group of betrayed CIA black ops and their fight for survival. The movie is based on the DC/Vertigo graphic novel of the same name by Andy Diggle. The Losers screenplay was written by Peter Berg (Hancock) and is directed by Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard).

The Losers team is comprised of some of the best of the best military personal and stars Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen), Chris Evans (Push), Idris Elba (Thor), Jason Patric (Narc), Columbus Short (Armored) and Oscar Jaenada.  The trailer for the film has been long overdue but today it’s available and you can watch it below.

This might be the first time I’ve watched a trailer that didn’t give away the entire film in two and a half minutes. The Losers looks like it has the right amount of humor, action and intrigue all blended into one. Plus, it has Zoe Saldana in her underwear – I’m just sayin’.

Seriously though, from what I’ve read about the graphic novel, it would appear that White has nailed the look and personality of each of the main characters and I’m looking forward to seeing if the rest of the film translates as well.

Damn! She looks good even when she isn't in blue makeup.

Between The Losers and Kick-Ass, April is shaping up to be a great month for comic book action films.

What did you think about the trailer for The Losers and will you see it in theaters?

The Losers blows up theaters April 9th, 2010.

  1. looks good but after the trailer i feel like ive already watched the film lol.

  2. Count me in. I'll see anything with Patric in it. Guy works every few years and always surprises

  3. great song. Don't Speak by The Eagles of Death Metal. Gotta love it. Trailer was so so. It looks like a million other cheesy action comedies. (Ocean's 11 much?)

  4. hmm, definitely a must-see – trailer was impressive, but I'll watch it mostly because of Morgan and Saldana (great to see her on Earth this time lol)

    that looks F**KING AWESOME :)
I knew about The Losers but I've never read it.

They have a fantastic cast and what looks like a tasty amount of action.
I'm looking forward to seeing JDM in action again.
As for Zoe Saldana…….. well , first of all I think she is a talented actress and I've enjoyed everything I've seen her in ; and secondly I want to say that she is so very mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm so very very mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

    looks like a fun movie
    I wanna see it :)

  6. Looks really good! I love'd JDM in Watchmen, even though he was only in it for a little bit 😛

  7. Blaguyver was a funny line lol.

  8. So this and Kick-ass and Wall Street 2 all coming out in April? Man it would be really weird if that turns out to be the best month for film releases in 2010.

  9. I like it, I'm definitely going to see this now.

  10. I'm happy to see actual scenes from the comic in the trailer, but am a bit concerned given that Peter Berg wrote the script. He did Very Bad Things, which I liked a lot, but he also is responsible for the schizophrenic train wreck that was Hancock. The trailer is everything I hoped for, though, so I'll try to remain optimistic.

  11. So this looks like a better, more intense, serious (and yet still funny) version of The A-Team.

  12. Jeffery Dean Morgan + Idris Elba + Chris Evans + Jason Patric (and Zoe Saldana, too?) = I'm SO there! This movie is going to be seriously freakin' AWESOME. Can't wait! :)

  13. Should I be anticipating the A-Team movie? Seems like the same plot line. I'll have to choose one or the other to save money……..
