Hah hah unrealistic abilities? What about the ability to control the elements or being able to fly or talking dragons and spliced animals? If they are going to change the personality of Sokka completely, the least they could do is let him have his boomerang…

That “machette” Is actually Sokkas boomerang. Sokkas boomerang in the show has unrealistic abilities that wouldnt translate into real life. This boomerang is more of a hand weapon that Sokka has in the movie.

A'men about the blue spirit … when i first saw the picture i was like “what's with the masked waterbender” … the blue spirit wears a blue mask and BLACK, unmarked clothing … and what's with the freak'n blue swords? … NO sword is blue … and what the heck is Zuko doing holding a sword? why does sokka's machette (it's supposed to be a machette) look like one of Jet's hook swords? and why does Aang look like a girl?

Yeah, changes are to be expected in a movie, but the Blue Spirit still looks awful. And there is NO excuse for the race changes at all. If I were you, I'd wait to rent this instead of watching it in the theater.

I agree that Blue Spirit looks bad but I kind of like Aapa. When going from an animated tv show to a movie, there's bound to be some differences, especially when the action figures are going to be then created based on the actors/characters representing it. Either way I'm looking forward for the movie and the figures. By the way I've blogged about what you wrote on a post of mine on The Last Airbender action figures and I digged/bookmarked this post. And remember the figures can still be in prototype phase, and if that's the case they can still change until June or whenever they're going to be released.

These are just godawful. The "Blue Spirit" looks like some sort of blue monkey monster with hair. Look up a picture of the REAL Blue Spirit, the two look NOTHING alike. And speaking of looking nothing alike, the racefail of the cast is even more upsetting now that we finally get a Katara doll... who looks nothing like Katara. Why does Hollywood think mainstream audiences will only related to white heroes? And why did they go out of their way to make the mostly pale-skinned Firebender villains dark brown?

Well, there they are. I'm pleased with Appa, I was afraid he would have wings or some other interesting interpretation. As for the rest of the lot, many of these look like their live action characters. However, I'm still in the club that would have preferred a different look for Katara, Aang, Zuko, Sokka, etc. How collectible will they be? Its hard to say until I get a better look at them. If I go by fandom response, I would say a good amount of fans will be grabbing these when they can. I will definitely nab a Katara, even if she is not from the original series. Regardless of racial representation, I am a woman, and I am very happy Katara is present in this line up. I hope her character is as strong and admirable in the movie as it was through the eyes of the original Avatar the Last Airbender creators and writers. But this doesn't keep me from wanting an original series Katara action figure. Hopefully some special edition original series figures will be considered for in the future.

Appa looks excellent! and did I see Momo in the background of one of those pictures? also, I didnt realize that the Blue Spirit would be in the movie.
