i just saw it… and it was freakin awesome… i would have given it a 4.5 but 4’s good… it was still awesome. I’m still laughing and even more so because i’ve done some of that stuff myself(not in the U.S. though…lol). Hilarious… my cheeks hurt and i feel like i had several brain freezes during and after the movie.

@vic
what did you think of that nearly last scene in the credits of zack in the elevator i guess it looks like…? either a gummie worm or gummie bear got lodged somewhere in my throat for that one…i was not expecting that at all.

Paul Young says:

Vic – So you are saying the crass humor was better than Observe and Report?

@jago

That last scene is what I was referring to above.

@Paul Young

I didn’t see Observe and Report – based on what I heard that wasn’t really much of a comedy at all.

Paul Young says:

@Vic – I remember your Observe and Report review. It was written by a talented and handsome guest reviewer I believe :)

@Paul

(Slaps forehead) Doh! Sorry, bud, still not used to seeing you comment as “Paul.” :-P

I found the film entertaining and fun. Lovely.

Patrick says:

This is a great comedy, I couldn’t stop laughing throughout. I was shocked that here in Canada the movie is only rated 14A and no scenes were deleted, the surprising last couple of pictures were included.

Steph says:

Saw it yesterday. This is for the under-30 crowd only. I don’t find a bunch of screenwriters and I use that term loosely sitting around a table saying “Let’s throw in a tiger, wait I got it, add a baby, no wait, how about Mike Tyson punching somebody, no wait I got it, a naked Asian guy in a car trunk…” to be productive of anything that can be called quality. Trite site gag after trite site gag, but the brain dead young’ins who got out of Mom’s basement long enough to see it did love it.

Jack says:

I thought his movie was hilarious. I laughed all the way through it and the photos at the end were priceless. Each one was funnier than the next. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a comedy that I loved so much I could watch it again, but this is one I could watch over and over. Can’t wait for it to buy on dvd.

Michele says:

Although certain scenes were hilarous, I definately don’t think its all the hype that folks are making it out to be. I guess it depends on your humor, but some of it was a bit stupid. And it dragged a little too….

almanza says:

carlos was awesome, cute little guy

John "Kahless" Taylor says:

I enjoyed it, but would have given it probably 3.5 out of 5, maybe 4. I wasn’t bored at all, as some people seemed to think it dragged. Some of the pictures at the end I could have lived without (You know which picture I’m talking about Vic).

I do have one question though: What the heck was up with the chicken?! 8)

I loved this movie, I don’t remember a part where I wasn’t laughing with my buds. For the one that said this is for the under 30 crowd. I dunno man, I was shocked to see a couple of gray hairs in there laughing with us. Thought that was pretty awesome in its self.

dudelove says:

Excellent movie. I’m almost scared at the fact I know TWO people like Zack Galifianakis’ character!

4.5/5 from me. Second best movie of the year easily!

NDH says:

I just saw it last night; I hadn’t laughed that hard in the theater in a long while.

Manowar says:

It’s definitely up there as one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen. Every gag was a surprise…LOL

It was alot of fun.

Yeah I’d have to argue with the ‘under-30′ pidgeon-holing…. I (35, a mom) saw it with my dad (65, Rhodes Scholar) for Father’s Day, and we both enjoyed many laughs! (Although I was a bit chagrined to be next to him for a few of the shots/lines!!) Definitely a crowd-pleaser, for all types who have easy-going senses of humour. See me review it with my Dad at http://www.youtube.com/gabndad

Im 25. I didnt really like it. It was ok, but i dont see why everyone is making such a big deal out of it.

Nicky S. says:

I’m usually not a fan of the stupid can’t believe they’re doing that kinda comedies; however, this movie was hilarious!! I would even say it’s the funniest movie I’ve ever seen…didn’t stop laughing throughout the entire movie

vid says:

Pretty disappointing. The plot is surprisingly sound but I would’ve thought the outrageous setups would result in huge laughs but at most I had some mild chuckles. The Tyson bit was very disappointing, it looked a lot funnier in the trailer. Someone seems to have confused gross with funny one too many times in this movie.

It’s telling when the funniest part of the movie are the photos after the movie itself is over. Probably the only time I laughed out loud. This movie is overrated.

John "Kahless" Taylor says:

@vid
Actually, I was more disgusted with some of those photos at the end than with the rest of the movie.

benji tixier says:

the movie is really great but where does the idea come from …hummm

I can see why The Hangover is of this summer’s biggest hits. First, it’s funny as hell. Any movie that can weave a baby, a missing tooth, and Mike Tyson into its plot is comedic gold. Second, the cast perfectly play off each other. Bradley Cooper’s sleazy outspoken Phil, The Office’s Ed Helms’s whipped but goodhearted Stu, Zach Galifanakis’s indescribable Alan and Justin Bartha as Doug, the Groom, pull off each gag (No matter how gross), insult and wisecrack with great comedic timing. Third, Director, Todd Philips and Screenwriters, John Lucus and Scott Moore used a different approach to tell a standard comedic story. They focus on the characters finding out what happened at the Bachelor Party instead of seeing their antics that night. Their reactions to their antics in scenes such as when Phil, Stu and Alan go to the hospital to find Doug or seeing themselves on Tyson’s security cameras are hilarious. I especially, enjoyed the twists and turns in the story such as what happened to Doug during the Bachelor Party. It was great to see some surprises in a comedy instead of the standard set-up the joke plotting. The Hangover’s success proves that not only do audiences want to laugh at the movies but also want to see well-made comedies.
