Back in July we reported that Seth Rogen was going to be The Green Hornet. At the time we were among the among the “nerds [that] love complaining” that Rogen mentions in an interview with MTV about the film’s status. In his defense he did say:
“You go on Ain’t It Cool News, and everybody complains about everything.”
Which I agree with completely. I have yet to find a movie site with a larger contingent of nasty, mean-spirited commenters.
On the other hand the photo you see here is about as “macho” a picture of Rogen as I was able to find anywhere.

With the screenwriters strike going on, development on the story stopped cold. However this is where he and co-writer Evan Goldberg were on the story when they stopped:
“There’s a more comedic version and a less comedic version, and we don’t know what will feel right until we’re actually writing it”
Isn’t that great? So there are two versions at the moment and they have to decide which way to go. Either way, to me it doesn’t sound good.
It looks like instead of a really cool Green Hornet movie we’re going to end up with the modern day equivalent of the old Adam West Batman TV show instead of the cool 60’s version starring Van Williams and Bruce Lee.
Yay.
On the bright side, Rogen is planning to get in shape for the role in order to look muscular as opposed to his usual pudgy appearance in movies. He’s also looking for a real martial arts guy to play the role of Kato. His preference is for either Kung Fu Hustle star Steven Chow or Tony Jaa
At the moment there’s no one on the radar for directing duties.

Wow, hadn’t heard anything on this for about a year. Last I had was that Kevin Smith had written a draft script with Jason Lee in mind for the role, but had since rejected directing it, at about the same time as the studios reject Lee for the role.
However, Seth Rogen is playing a title role and currently working on Smiths next movie “Zack and Miri Make A Porno” looks fun just from the title
they should deff. use tony jaa for the movie..
he is an upcoming star and everyone needs to understand his true skill.
