Three weeks ago, video blogs and pictures from the set of David O Russell’s The Fighter were posted by a user called “The Fighter” on IAmRogue. The only problem was that nobody knew about their existence, so you might not have heard anything about it. Until now, that is.

If you remember a couple of months ago, a photo was released showing an emaciated Christian Bale walking around on set. Now, for those interested, you have a veritable treasure trove of photos and videos for your perusing.

Check them out:

The Fighter centers around professional boxer Micky Ward (Wahlberg) in a real life Rocky-like story. With the help of his half-brother, Dickie Edlund (Bale), whom is a former boxer-turned-trainer and recovering drug addicted goes on to battle Arturo Gotti in three separate fights, two of which have been called the greatest matches in the history of the sport.

Below you’ll find a set of video blogs entitled “From The Set: The Fighter”

Here we see Mark Wahlberg training train with the real Micky Ward and Dickie Edlund of whom this film is based on.

Wahlberg training with the actors/boxers playing his opponents in the film.

Wahlberg talking about why he wanted to play this character and what it means to him.

I’ve been of two minds regarding this film. I’m still not confident with Mark Wahlberg in a leading roll (See: The Happening), but I enjoy David O. Russell’s work (See: Three Kings) and Christian Bale has been in some great movies lately (not so fast Terminator Salvation and Public Enemies). Still, I think this film has some promise. I have a feeling that this movie might be worth watching, just to see Bale’s performance.

What do you think? Has The Happening soured your view on Wahlberg as a leading man? Has the world forgiven Bale for Terminator Salvation? Is this a movie you’ll be going to see?

While no specific date has been announced, The Fighter will hit theaters in 2010.
