Dark Knight Rises trailer Dragon Tattoo style Fan Made Dark Knight Rises Trailer, Dragon Tattoo Style

‘Every journey has its end’ is the big tagline for The Dark Knight Rises, the third and final chapter in Chris Nolan’s Batman trilogy. However, it’s hard to know where you’re going, if you don’t know where you’ve been – and although some fans were put off by the old ground that was covered in the Dark Knight Rises teaser trailer, maybe they just didn’t have the material presented to them in an exciting enough way?

To that end, YouTube user “LittleMissAngel16” (slightly creepy name) has created a Dark Knight Rises trailer that looks back over the events of both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight in the hyper-kinetic, quick-cut style of David Fincher’s Girl With The Dragon Tattoo teaser trailer.

And yes, the remixed version of Led Zepplin’s “Immigrant Song” is style rocking hard and heavy over all the footage of Bruce Wayne, Alfred, Lucius Fox, TWO different versions of Rachel Dawes, and of course, Batman himself battling villains like The Scarecrow, Ra’s al Ghul, and The Joker.

Check out the Batman Begins/Dark Knight/Dragon Tattoo mashup trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, below:

These riffs on that Dragon Tattoo teaser have become something of a popular trend since the trailer was released earlier this year. In fact, simply type the words “dragon tattoo style” into a YouTube search engine, and you’ll instantly be greeted with mashups using footage from movies like Inception, Harry Potter Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and The Debt, to name a few.

For our money though, The Muppets still did it best with their spoof, “The Pig With The Froggy Tattoo.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo will be in theaters on December 21, 2011.

The Dark Knight Rises will be in theaters on July 20, 2012.

  1. That was so awesome. We need more of these Dragon Tattoo-style trailers.

  2. Now THAT was awesome. I’m really impressed with what ‘Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Karen O did with that song!!

Trent for best soundtrack AGAIN!! And I haven’t even seen ‘Dragon Tattoo’ yet!

    • YES! Trent is god! and atticus is awesome too

      • Couldn’t have worded it better myself! I think “god” is the right word. My first live concert was ‘Nine Inch Nails’ and it was also my best! The soundtrack for ‘The Social Network’ was outstanding!

  3. simply incredible stuff

  4. Seriously ? That’s lame.
Everybody can do that. Windows movie maker / songtrack

    • Martin

Maybe you should provide a visual example so that we can better grasp what you are saying…

    • Martin,

Yes, please do link us to examples of your videos that you’ve created.

      • Martin… you’re using windows… that pretty much tells me enough… we don’t need to see them.

  5. fanboys shouldn’t be soiling themselves over TDKR trailer just yet. after all, what we’ve been shown thus far is merely a TEASER, not a proper trailer. settle down beavis!

  6. chaotic and confusing just like the dragon tat trailer. it doesn’t explain anything, just a montage of random scenes thrown around to get the blood flowing. poor attempt at post production imo and a terrible example to go by for those who are getting into post production/video editing.

can’t wait for a proper trailer for the movie though, i’m keen to see how the final product (TDKR) looks like.

  7. Well done, a better mash up will probably be available at the end of the month after the trailer and prologue make their way online.

  8. Very impressive. Slick editing.

  9. Ah! Two Rachels! Re-casting joke.

  10. please dont start to promote youtube fake trailer here at screenrant!

    • We highlight videos we like from time to time. I did clarify things in the title by calling this an “SR Pick.”

      • I was initially confused at first as well. I thought the author did a great job. Clearly has more talent and time than I do. :)

  11. MY GOD.

This was so good my excitement just went up SO MUCH! Well done SC :D!!!

  12. Is it just me or has Bale’s Batman fought more vilains than the others combined?

    • @ Brandon

      Yes, Bale’s Batman has.

  13. I loved it!!!!!! Made me want to be in the theater right now lol :)

  14. @ Wally West
By my count only by one.

    • If had to be technical about them all & watched all the films up to date,id say there just may be as many villains shown in both Bat-franchises. By your count, i wouldn’t be surprised.

  15. Made me realize once more how much more I liked “Begins” over “Dark Knight.”

  16. Oh interwebs, how I enjoy thee!

    • @Frank – you do have some very technically accomplished mashups in there my friend (love the “Drop the World” one), but to the layman who isn’t proficient in video editing, this TDKR mashup is pretty entertaining, I think.

You know, if you have new movie mashups, don’t be afraid to forward them to your pals at Screen Rant! ;-) that “contact us” button at the bottom of this screen comes in handy.

  17. If I was hyped on RedBull and had ADHD I might have enjoyed that. Weak.

  18. Not at all complicated to make but still well done. Just because it was simple doesn’t mean some of you need to attack the guy. He still did it fairly flawlessly and it is fun. I hate the music though but it was what he was stuck with. I mostly just hate Trent.

I used to make video like this all the time when I had access to a mac and really loved doing video work and editing, but it’s just not as fun or user friendly on a PC. I love my PC for gaming and everything else, but it really isn’t very good for video editing.

I commend the maker of the video but it certainly just goes to show just how crappy the trailer for Dragon tattoo really is. The trailer told you nothing was a bunch of random scenes pieced together and was loud/ obnoxious.

  19. Ok I just watched this twice in a row and I only saw Maggie Gylenhaal’s Rachel Dawes in it. Am I blind or did I just blink.
