George Clooney Violante Placido The American SR Pick [Video]: The American Spoof: The Canadian

A couple of months ago we posted a video by ex-Screen Ranter Scott Miller and his comedy partner David Rynn, in which a girlfriend (Miller) tries to convince her boyfriend (Rynn) to see Eat, Pray, Love rather than Predators. You guys were pretty amused by the spoof.

Today we are proud to present another comedic offering, this time starring David Rynn in a spoof of the George Clooney assassin flick The American, humorously titled The Canadian.

If you saw The American (read our review HERE) then you know that the movie – in which Clooney plays an assassin hiding out in a remote Italian village – was more about the aesthetic of European cinema than the kinetic action of American cinema. Translation: a lot of people thought it was boring.

Well, a film about an American assassin living abroad carries its own connotation – but I don’t think any of us are really sure what the life of a Canadian assassin is all aboot. Luckily, someone has made a movie to explain it to us:

Hockey Skates, Canadian Whiskey, Tim Hortons – no Canadian stereotype is off limits here!

While our own resident Canadian Rob Keyes may want to have words with Mr. Rynn, I think that this video is pretty hilarious. It certainly has about 1,000% more laughs than you will ever get from the actual film, The American,  just proving that Canada may be pulling ahead of us in the race for world comedic supremacy. God help us all.

If you like The Canadian be sure to check out more work by David Rynn and our own Scott Miller over at their Official Website.

  1. very cute :)

I always wondered why Americans associate the Maritime provinces accent with “the Canadian accent”.

  2. Having seen The American film last week, I thought this was hilarious, good job to the guys that made it.

  3. @ Mr. Kofi

“God help us all.” Whaaa??! Explain yourself sir.

Sounds to me like Canadian comedy for you is akin to a prostate exam.

Now, pardon me as I actually watch the clip… to be continued (maybe).

  4. Geez, we shure seem like nice people eh?

It’s like watching a biography of my own life… except for the Leaf’s jersey.

  5. Toronto sucks

  6. I liked “The Mexican” better

    aka

    “MACHETE”

  7. I’m sure if they would make a film out of this it would be about 200 times more entertaining than that George Clooney movie, well, as long as they don’t actually cast George Clooney to play The Canadian as well… Although that would be more appropriate because I’m sure he would like to be Canadian more than American…

  8. Leafs suck, and the only people in Canada who talk like that live in Newfoundland. It’s like Canada’s Kentucky.

    • “Leafs suck, and the only people in Canada who talk like that live in Newfoundland. It’s like Canada’s Kentucky.”

      Grace

Your ignorance is absolutely astounding…It’s attitudes like yours, born out of ignorance and a lack of real social education, that allows myths like this to persist in the world..Your are without a doubt malicious and probably a social retard … People like you make me sick

      • WOW, what did Grace say to deserve that?

        • manowar

you’d have to live up here in Canada or know something of the rude and cultural bias that exists concerning Newfoundland and Newfoundlanders..It is commonplace for people to put down the province and it’s peoples, a people who are hard working, kind-hearted and very giving of themselves..if you want evidence of that do a google search on Newfoundland hospitality to the people on the planes that were stranded post the 911 attacks(many of whom were Americans)..Certain people like to make fun of the way Newfoundlanders speak when there a thousand different brogues and dialects there…Some of the best examples would be like the gypsies(Brad Pitt) in Guy Ritchie’s SNATCH..We have been the butt of jokes up here for 100 years for no reason and have put up with this treatment because we have a great sense of humor and prefer not to let people know we have been offended..having said that this attitude has changed dramatically over the last 10 years and we no longer find it funny to be treated rudely in manners such as this..It’s typically not accepted across races to be racist or rude towards another race but in Canada it is still socially acceptable to treat a different culture(Newfoundland & Cape Breton) this way. I’ve had enough..

          I hope this helps..

  9. this is soooooooo bad

  10. We want a full length movie.

    Make it so, eh?
