The Batman star Jeffery Wright revealed what may be the first look at Commissioner Gordon's rooftop bat signal on his personal social media account. Matt Reeves writes and directs the newest reboot of Warner Bros. Batman franchise, this time with Robert Pattinson playing the caped crusader and his alter ego, Bruce Wayne. The highly-anticipated film started shooting in London just a few weeks ago.

The film has been shrouded in secrecy since it was first announced. Outside of a few teases posted by Reeves, including a picture from the set on the first day of filming, not much is known about The Batman's visual aesthetic. However, there hasn't been much else leaked about Reeve's vision for The Batman. That all changed earlier this evening when the director posted a screen test of Pattinson in costume as Batman. The footage is accompanied by a bit of the film's score, written by composer Michael Giacchino.

Wright celebrated the costume tease with a Twitter post containing what appears to be Commissioner Gordon's bat signal. The Westworld actor didn't include any text with the post; instead, he quote-tweeted Reeves' camera test and attached a picture. The image, which you can see below, is of a spotlight, sans Bat-symbol, that looks to be situated on a London rooftop that will double as Gotham City in the film.

It isn't much, but fans are hyped about the movie, and any small tease gets them talking. Aside from the batsuit reveal, there haven't been many looks at the film's characters. Although, a few set photos have leaked out depicting Pattinson as Batman, and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, better known to many as The PenguinThe Batman is said to take place during Batman's second year as a crime-fighter and is stacked with characters familiar to comic fans. In addition to Wright, Pattinson, and Farrell, the film also features Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and Andy Serkis as Bruce Wayne's loyal butler, Alfred Pennyworth.

Hopefully, the cast and crew continue to release small teases of the film as production continues. It's a smart move considering how often paparazzi and overzealous fans leak set photos. If upcoming outdoor scenes do feature the characters in costume, the production should control how the movie's visuals are teased rather than risk making a bad first impression. The Batman doesn't hit theaters until June 25, 2021, so fans still have at least another five months before an official teaser trailer is unveiled.
