The Avengers Teaser Trailer Teaser For The Avengers Button At End of Captain America

In Marvel and DC comics, each character is part of larger universe. Batman fights alongside Superman and Wonder Woman in DC’s Justice League; some of the X-Men fight alongside Spider-Man and The Avengers in Marvel’s main universe. When it comes to the films however, only Marvel Studios had made the effort to realize that shared universe on the silver screen and after years of laying the foundation, the next feature from the Disney-owned studio represents the culmination of their efforts, and the ultimate comic geek fantasy: The Avengers.

If you’re reading this, looking for that first glimpse at The Avengers and are excited to see these heroes come together on screen, then you’ve no doubt been following the series to date. Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk introduced two heroes to the modern world, grounded in reality, teasing the beginnings of the The Avengers thanks to cameo appearances by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick fury and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, respectively.

The success of Iron Man opened the floodgates to the then-independent studio and solo character films to introduce Captain America and Thor were quickly greenlit alongside an Iron Man sequel. These films were set to lay the seeds of the other core characters of The Avengers, a film that would see the four established heroes – and some special  S.H.I.E.L.D. agents - join together for a common cause. That and brilliant merchandising and marketing initiatives are helping to ensure that The Avengers is more than just a few hours of on-screen entertainment, but an event.

By now you should have learned to stick around and wait out the credits during each Marvel Studios film as each includes a “button” at the end, a tease of things to come. Iron Man introduced Nick Fury and The Avengers Initiative, Thor revealed the villain of The Avengers and the end of Captain America brought Steve Rogers into the modern era with an additional post-credits button giving fans their first look at The Avengers.

Part of those two segments from Marvel Studios’ latest film have been released online, but keep in mind, this is not a teaser trailer for The Avengers, but a button as Disney and Paramount call it. For a glimpse of what’s at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, watch this clip, titled “Times Square,” below from Yahoo! which shows a part of the final scene of the movie and a brief tease of the post-credits button. For the full excitement, go see the film in theaters. Trust us.

While far more engaging than The Avengers teaser from last year’s Comic-Con, this footage doesn’t reveal any of the action bits and other fun stuff the full button does, so again, check it out in theaters as we are told it will not be released online. We’ve also pulled out some stills from the trailer for a closer look at The Avengers roster, including the first look at Thor’s new costume and Hawkeye’s get-up, our first look at Mark Ruffalo joining the franchise as Bruce Banner, and even Black Widow’s new hairstyle.

These character shots all appear to take place aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. Hellicarrier.

The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgard. It is of course written and directed by Joss Whedon, opening in theaters on May 4, 2012.

  1. SPOILERS AHEAD: Loki is totally going to be the main villain in this movie as they show him twice in the teaser once in chains and once in a scene that looks to be him breaking out(in what looks like a chaotic scene and he is in a car standing in the sunroof looking out(sort of like the Joker in TDK. Red Skull will probably be somewhere in the movie as in Cap he is was obviously transported somewhere else using the cube, they’ll probably show him on another planet. And I also think that the way Thor gets to Earth is by way of SHIELD or some other organization using the cube to get to him as it has the power to act as a teleportation device.

But that is what I think and what I believe to be the most logical things to happen in the movie.

    • **** SPOILER ALERT ****

When I first saw Thor, I thought that Mjolnir would be used to rebuild the Bifrost because Odin said it was a tool to build or destroy. But using the Cosmic Cube could also work.

      • You’re more right than you know.

  2. There’s one character that I haven’t heard any mention of. And he was an Avenger and its one-time leader. Vision. Any hope of he showing up in the movies some time in the future since we’ve mentioned Black Panther and Ant man in the past?

    • Vision will probably show sometime (they’d have to show Hank Pym and Ultron first (I remember that Ultron made him I’m pretty sure.) Vision would be pretty cool but he was always one of the goofier looking guys but with the right design he could look awesome. Less bright colors and more shiny like an android.

      • Your right… Ultron created Vision (using the original Human Torch’s parts) to infiltrate the Avengers, but the Vision decided to join the Avengers and helped stop Ultron.

I personally don’t really care much for the Vision and I doubt he’ll ever make it onto the silver screen.

        • Vision has already appeared in one of the movies. When Steve and Bucky go to the future fair there is a shot of the synthetic man, we see a man in a red suit in a glass tube. That was the original Humna Torch, and the body that was used by Ultron to create the Vision.

  3. does anyone know who will be playing Hulk in the Avenger movie. I hope its Edward Norton. He was really good in the last Hulk Movie

    • *Sigh*
Under what rock have you been living mate?
If you actually bothered to read the article then the answer would be clear to you. But I’ll make it easier for for you ;) : Mark Ruffalo will be reprising the role of Bruce Banner.

      • “Mark Ruffalo will be reprising the role of Bruce Banner.”

        Nope, it’s his first time.

        • Sorry, my bad.

I was going to type “Ed Norton isn’t reprising the role of Banner” but then decided to switch to “Mark Ruffalo will be reprising the role of Bruce Banner”: I forgot to delete “reprising” and type “playing”.

    • Wow, you must not read Screenrant often, because there has been much discussion about why Norton will not reprise his role and Ruffalo will take his place.

  4. At the end of TIH, Hulk/Banner is in “Custody” of the army. In the after-credits-scene stark talks with the general in a bar. So, I think TIH plays a little bit after Iron-Man 2 & Thor. It could be, that a great threat is coming (skrull) and the Avengers need the Hulk to have a chance against it. It is strange though, that Stark, and not Nick Fury, is talking to the general, since they’re both big guns of the government. Which authority has Stark to a general of the army?

Or maybe Shield/the Avengers aren’t aware of the Skrull. Loki frees the Hulk (out of Banner & the Army) to distract the Avengers from the invading Skrulls. It could be the reason why the general is drinking in a bar when Stark comes. He is frustrated because Hulk/Banner isn’t in Custody anymore, so he have to tell Stark that the Hulk is no option, but a threat himself. So while the Avengers try to defeat/capture Hulk (Hulkbuster Armor ;)) the skrull/kree are invading earth. Somehow they manage to tame the Hulk and together they kick the Skrulls to outer space again.

What are you thinkink about my theories, wouldn’t it be fun to see the Avengers fight the Hulk and the Skrulls?

    • Your right and your wrong ;)

Here is the chronological order of the Marvel films:
      1. Captain America
      2. Iron Man
      3. Iron Man 2
      4. Thor (the events of Thor start near the third act of Iron Man 2)
      5. The Incredible Hulk (takes place at the same time as Thor, but plays out over a longer time frame – thus, ending AFTER long after Thor)

Doubt the Skrulls will play a part of the Avengers (although I’m not saying they WON’T be in Avengers – I’m just saying it’s unlikely).

I think people are over thinking the Avengers… remember, this movie has such a large cast and has so many things happening that half the movie will probably just be about the Avengers “assembling” for the first time – before the actual “threat” becomes a threat.

I’m pretty sure that the movie will be about Loki trying to get his hands on the cosmic cube (with possible help from the Red Skull) – as the Avengers assemble, Loki finds out that he alone can’t face a whole team of super heroes and as a distraction , he messes with Bruce Banner’s mind (which we know he can do) and unleashes the Hulk on the world – as the Avengers try to bring the Hulk under control, Loki has enough time to steal the cube – the Avengers get Banner to take back control of the Hulk and together the Avengers stop Loki and his evil minions (possibly Frost Giants or MAYBE the Skrulls).

But like I’ve said many times before… we just have to wait for Marvel to reveal more info on the film… until then we can only keep guessing and discussing the MULTITUDE OF POSSIBLE PLOT POINTS that Whedon could have written! :D

      • The unleashed Hulk could even be the main reason to “assemble” the Avengers by Shield.
So my thoughts were, that the first half is about the Avengers “assembling” for the first time because of the threat of Hulk.

        • That is actually even more likely (I think you’re right)… I guess we’ll just have to wait and see :D – I still think there won’t be any Skrulls though…

        • I’ll be very curious to see whether the Hulk causes mayhem or not. Ruffalo explicitly said that plot point wasn’t in the film, but I’m curious whether he was just trying to throw people off the scent or not.

    • Wait a minute, the Hulk wasn’t in custody, he was running away after he defeated the Abomination. The last scene (before the after credit scene) was Banner in a room, doing yoga, smiling when his eyes turn green, suggesting that he has gained control. What theAvenger has chronicled sounds right, and I doubt the Skrulls will be the villains (but they just might be involved somehow). It’s quite possible that the Hulk is the reason they do assemble and after they finally get Hulk to join, the Kree or Skrulls attack for a cliffhanger.

  5. @John Tylor: I’m not sure what Aliens”R”Us meant when he said “Banner is in custody of the army”, but I can only infer that he meant near the end of the movie – before Banner jumped out of the plane (maybe he got a bit confused).

    • Ok, you’re right, I think. It’s been a while since I’ve seen this movie.
So he escaped, and the general is frustrated, takes a drink or two in a bar and Stark comes along and asks: “Hey what’s up, what’s wrong with you?”
The general answers: “Ah, we had this awesome Hulk, and I lost him, he is very dangerous and he could have been a very cool weapon, you know. Now i’m f****d, ok, we have still this Abomination-think, but it’s second quality…., buahhaaaha :(”
Stark answers: “Oh i’m so sorry for you, I wish I could help you, oh wait I’m calling my gang and we get him for you, I can’t let a general cry so hard”
      A few days later:
Stark to the General: “Ok, we captured him, but we want to keep him, I’m so sorry, but he is so cute!” ;)

Ok, jokes aside, but maybe the general instigates the avengers to fight/get Banner/Hulk indeed and Loki manipulates Banner, or the Avengers simply don’t believe Banner, that he has control.
Whatever the reason is, I definitely want to see a very big fight between the Avengers and the Hulk.

      • You’re right and you’re wrong again ;)

Yes, Hulk did escape (in the penultimate scene he was seen in a cottage in New England meditating and finally gaining control of the Hulk – or so it would appear.)
But in the final scene when Stark walks into the bar – he already knows about the Hulk’s escape and goes to General Ross as a mere formality, telling him that SHIELD and the Avengers are gonna take care of the Hulk.

Also, I’m 95% sure that General Ross will play no part in the Avengers… but, hey, I’ve been wrong before.

        • Dont mean to butt in but it was in British Columbia not New England…

  6. it would be so exciting if the original actors of each characters portray each role. since all avenger members have seperate movies and have their respective iconic actors like Edward Norton or Eric Bana (i preffer Edward Norton) as the hulk.

    • All the original actors WILL reprise their roles (except for Norton – Ruffalo will replace him).

P.S. the 2003 Hulk film has nothing to do with Marvel Movie Universe (i.e. Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk and Captain America). You can erase that movie from your mind and never speak of it again ;)

  7. I cant wait for this movie to come out next year! I wanted to scream when I saw the clip at the end of Captain America!:D(I love that movie)

  8. Where are Ant Man and Wasp ? Because both Ant Man and Wasp are two of the founding memembers of The Avengers in the comics

  9. If any one has watched the movie Captain America you will note that the Red Skull was “dissolved” by the Cosmic Cube (which in this incarnation had some of the power of Odin) or was he dissolved and sent upward to Asgard as the beam of light suggest. This could possibly lead up to a Loki/Red Skull partnership for the Avengers movie. Additionally they left Zola alive in the Captain America movie and he was always involved with Hydra. Just a thought.

    • I think you’re on to something ;)

    • G0dd@mnit.

When posting huge spoilers, please write in big letters *************SPOILERS AHEAD***************

Please remember the fact that some people haven’t been able to see Cap yet. Just because the article is about the Avengers button at the end of Cap doesn’t mean this is a spoiler discussion. Fortunately I didn’t read too far into your post, I would come hunt down your family if you had ruined any plot points for me.

  10. *SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT*
Okay guys, This is my theory .
So at the end of Captain America, you can tell that The Red Skull didn’t die. He was somewhat pulled By the cosmic cube into the vast open space like where the 9 realms are. So maybe SHIELD uses the cosmic cube to get Thor back to earth, since the Bifrost was destroyed.
So when Red skull was sucked into the realm , maybe he meets Loki, finding out they have a common interest , devising a plan to conquer the Avengers, or maybe the world. And Since the hulk didn’t kill Abomination , they use him and hulk as a distraction causing the avengers to stop the two from fighting so they can take hold of the cosmic cube, giving them unlimited power to take over the world.

Tell me what you guys think:D

  11. I was wondering if anyone knows if the Ant Man movie being directed by Edgar Wright ties in with the whole Marvel Movie-verse?

  12. I am excited for this movie but i really hope they introduce the other characters in this movie or at least a few of them such as black panther,ant-man,wasp, and even tho i kno it wont happen it would be sick to see wwolverine and spider-man wow….

  13. yaa

  14. I like that Stark is wearing a Sabbath shirt.

  15. This is going to be such a cheese-fest! They should have waited for a few sequels to the other recently introduced hero movies – That would’ve eventually climaxed into an Avengers movie. Instead they’ve chosen the path to rush this to make a quick buck. If people were complaining there are simply way too many superhero movies nowadays, they may not have anything to complain about come next year….this one may kill them all.
