[Update: Watch The Avengers Super Bowl teaser here! Full commercial this weekend.]

With Super Bowl XLVI coming this weekend, movie fans are expecting to see a plethora of big Superbowl Movie Commercials, and Marvel’s The Avengers is certainly one of the bigger offerings of the bunch.

However, you don’t have to wait until Super Bowl Sunday to see the latest footage from The Avengers: you can tweet with the director and a few of the cast members TODAY, and in doing so, win yourself a sneak peek at The Avengers Super Bowl Trailer! If that isn’t a “win-win” scenario, I don’t know what is.

The Avengers brings together Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), in order to battle the evil threat of Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

Of the cast, it will be Clark Gregg and Tom Hiddleston alongside director Joss Whedon for the live tweeting event. Details on how you can get into the conversation (and win yourself a preview glimpse of the Superbowl trailer) are below:

Marvel Studios announced today that they will be sponsoring a Global Twitter Chat on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. (PST) with cast members and the director of their highly anticipated action-adventure “Marvel’s The Avengers,” opening in theaters on May 4, 2012. The 30-minute live tweeting event features writer/director Joss Whedon and cast members Tom Hiddleston and Clark Gregg.

Fans around the world will be able to participate in the Q&A on Twitter by using the @Avengers handle and the #Avengers hashtag. Participating fans will have the opportunity to see a 10-second tease of the 30-second Super Bowl spot that will air during Super Bowl XLVI on February 5 on NBC. They will also have a chance to answer “Avengers” trivia for a chance to win “Avengers” prize packs.

International fans will be able to submit questions for the talent in their native language through a global translation tool provided by Ortsbo.com. The chat will be moderated by Marvel’s @Agent_M.

So again, that’s:

  1. So you can see a teaser for a 30 second trailer? Wow!

    • In fact maybe they can do a preview for the teaser of the trailer…

      • Yeah, a five second preview.

  2. A preview for the preview…
Yes people, this is what life is like now — welcome to the future :(

As much as you all know I can’t wait to see this movie, I most certainly will not watch a 10 second clip of a 30 second clip that I’ll be able to see in a few days anyway.
Thanks Marvel, but no thanks. Just cut to the chase and give us an awesome clip on February the fifth.

    • “Yes people, this is what life is like now — welcome to the future”

This isn’t what my life is like. I choose not to participate. lol

I will however be looking forward to the full spot during the Superbowl. (which will hopefully be a repeat of the Suberbowl from February of 2008. :~) … or in other words…. GO GIANTS!!!!)

    • “A preview for the preview…”

A perfect summation of of its worth.
Less of less does not add up to more.

  3. @”•You play the game, and you get a prize of 10 seconds of preview Footage from The Avengers Superbowl Trailer.”

Yeah, I’ll just wait a week and watch it online.

  4. They only bought a 30 second spot for the super bowl? I know it’s expensive, but when will we see a full-fledged trailer for the movie? Just curious.

    • A two minute trailer for the movie was released months ago…

      • Gee, really? Well I guess that means they will never release a full trailer that shows more about the story…

        • Do you really want more about the story?
Trailers these days reveal everything in the trailers.
No thanks, leave SOME mystery and surprise for the actual movie.

          • Bingo bango.

  5. yeah ill have to pass to. the tv spot sunday is just something to tide me over until the next full trailer which should be out in about 3 weeks anyways.

  6. I hope its the footage from the first trailer

  7. Almost as bad as the Batman IMAX trailer promo. Go to the theater and wait in line to see a trailer, then go home.

  8. Just saw the footage…not much new to report on.
There is a quick clip of about 4 aliens riding individual crafts shooting lasers blowing up cars while people are running in panic. The vehicles look like a lot green goblins glider in Spiderman but with handles (jetski-ish). They also look to be wearing gold plated armor… Then we see Thor point his hammer towards the sky and then lightening striking the top of the Empire State Building profusely. Next scene is IronMan flying through buildings being chased and shot at by aforementioned aliens on “speed-cycles” and finally the same face shot we saw of Hulk from the movie tailor. Of course he is angry.

here is the clip on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fZsu3sbWnAU

    • Loki is on one of those vehicles.

      • Loki is on the first vehicle that flies in. You can see his helmet and green cape

        • The Loki scene looks alot like a finished scene from the 1st Trailer…

    • Crysler Building * not Empire State Building. There’s also quick shots of Tony Stark (no Suit) on the hellicarrier [you can see Fury in the bottom left], Black Widow looking up, and Thor helping Captain America up…

      pretty stoked for the movie!

  9. They’re kidding right?
