In Marvel Comics, the “brother-sister act” of Quicksilver and sister Scarlet Witch begin their erratic careers as villains but join The Avengers. In the film, they may be working with Baron Strucker in the beginning, potentially all working for HYDRA – or whatever faction is playing espionage games with SHIELD. We always knew from writer and director Joss Whedon’s hints about Age of Ultron that Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) don’t necessarily agree with The Avengers so the film will undoubtedly use some story twists and turns to keep moviegoers guessing at the pair’s true allegiances.
We know that the first Avengers was originally going to include a second, more “physical” villain – we wonder now if that villain was going to be Baron Strucker. Will the character’s introduction tie directly into the events of Captain America 2 and will we see a super-powered version of the character who’s lived for over a century? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
