Well it would make sense that Skynet would have received info from the TX, but Mcg has noted that they have ignored T3 canon.
Also in Terminator Salvation it appeared that Skynet had preserved one of its office buildings from 2003 as a base. Unlike T3′s premise that Skynet was born out of cyberspace and took over the Cyber Research division of the black ops military
Kate being in T4, didn’t necessarily hinge on T3.
I’m guessing well have to wait until Mcg can address this issue in the future for the real answer.

Well I saw it and liked it very much, great action movie and had a better story than I was expecting after early reviews. I think Bale did a good job. After reading he had a stale performance I was disappointed but I sorta felt like his character was supposed to be stale in this movie, so he played it the way I felt it needed to be played. Worthington did very good, he’s going to have a good year and a good future, he’s got a lot of big movies lined up. Also Moon Bloodgood did a pretty good job IMO and I hadn’t seen her in anything before, was this like her big break or what? I heard they were having problems CGI’ing Arnolds face onto a bodybuilders body sometime in April but they did a pretty good job, looked very realistic. I thought McG did an amazing job creating the post-apocalyptic world.
Overall, I thought it was a pretty good movie, great action throughout and better than I was expecting after the first few disappointing reviews. The only knock’s I have on it are the dialogue isn’t too good, ok most of the time, but then again barely passable sometimes. Also the ending was somewhat weak, not horrible but weak. I’d give it a B or a B+, probably a B+.
Funny how people like 790 give this a 2 out of 5 but still says they will buy the DVD. Man you must be rollin because I wouldn’t buy the DVD unless it was a 4 out of 5 or better, which I guess a B+ translates to a 4 out of 5 so I might.

I personally hated the way Connor reacted to Arnold coming at him. He should have had the facial expression of someone that just crapped his pants.

Just like in T2 (Robert Patrick) the co star stole the film. Worthington was awesome and believable. He’s going to be a big film star. (Imo)

The film is definitely worth seeing once. Its a entertaining film. I gave it a 2 out of 5 because I’m a obsessive Terminator freakoid that has high standards when it comes to Terminator canon.
Sad but true.

So, the look of the movie, awesome, it was really really well done. The story? Well it leaves alot to be desired, I really really gave it alot of leeway and you can explain away some things but some things are just too wtf to really believe.
I also agree that there wasnt enough of an emotional investment in this movie, I mean little things like Connors chick saying, dont go or crying or, I dont know something, could have made this so much better. I think Marcus and Kyle were fantastic, I dont think Bale or Moon or Cryce did bad, I just dont think they were given enough to do, the range was very limited.
Im kinda dissapointed that my favorite prospect of a movie didnt live up to my expectations and thats that I had lowered them too…
To be honest TSSC has more heart then this movie and even seems to make more sense. I always liked that Skynet was an ominous entity, that’s scary it just wants to kill you, there isn’t a mainframe computer conscience that talks to you and mocks you and laughs at you because it tricked you, it just kills you and doesn’t stop, never stops until your dead dammit… and I didnt get that at all from this film.
One of my biggest pet peeves is walking out of a big budget or hyped movie thinking about so many little things they could have done differently to make the movie so much better. I mean if me and you can think of them, then why cant the writers or god forbid the director at the last minute filming the shot or something…
Just got back from seeing the film….
I like the action ALOT.
The acting was terrible IMO other than Marcus and Kyle.
I really didn’t like the plot…w/ the signal to disable the terminators…until the end when the true purpose of the signal was revealed to Marcus by Skynet.
As far as Arnold’s cameo is concerned I thought it was cool.
Overall I give the film a 7 out of 10…oh and my favorite scene would have to be when Marcus finds out his true purpose when he is talking to SKYNET.
Oh wait I can’t believe I didn’t mention how much I loved the scene w/ “The Harvester” and “The Killer Motorcyles”.
I really liked the song “You Could Be Mine” by Guns N Roses being briefly included into the film.
It was great on action and effects. The terminator models didn’t seem like cartoon characters. It was a bit light on plot and story, especially for a terminator movie. It shouldn’t have surprised me since it is a McG flick. Hopefully, they will right the wrongs with the sequel. I thought Sam Worthington was great and seemed to steal the show from Bale. I don’t care if the plot device is weak to bring him back. I want them to. I think skynet made Marcus too perfect and too human, which enabled him to turn on them which would explain them going with a more controllable model. I seem to remember the computer telling him that he was the only one of his kind. Also, as he was dabbling, flashes of newspaper clippings showed the air force purchasing skynet. I also didn’t quite understand them knowing about Kyle Reese that early. I may be wrong.
Thats twice in consecutive films bales been outacted by a costar, granted ledgers performance was pretty epic. thats gotta briuse the already tempered ego
First, They did a HEART TRANSPLANT in the middle of the freaking desert! Being a registered nurse that actually made me giggle.
And I guess they just happened to have a heart surgeon standing by with a handy little lung bypass machine tucked away! Did they even consult someone in the medical field?
Why was everything on fire? Every other scene something was burning even in the rain.
So Helena Bonham Carter is skynet? That would scare me.
And I guess skynet has just one big wall and one big terminator to keep people from getting in.
It was a average watchable action movie that made me eat my words cause I said this would be one of the top three movies of the summer.

Cookie Garris… yes they did a heart transplant in the desert. I don’t think this is the place to flash off your ‘I’m a RN’ speel… this is 2018 in case you forgot. Did they consult someone in the medical field? HI POST-NUCLEAR FUTURE… not like they call up the local hospital. You gotta relax on the logistics just cause you are in the field… welcome to a MOVIE.
And if you paid attention to what ‘Helena Bonham Carter’ said, you’d realize no that isn’t Skynet at all.

I was just being a wee bit sarcastic. Didn’t mean to rub you wrong.
My point was that’s one hell of a coincidence that they would have a skilled heart surgeon in there camp at that moment with the right equipment to perform a transplant even without it being post apocalyptic. And I didn’t mean anything about the being a nurse comment. With my work experience that scene just really jumped out at me.

Connor’s heart transplant was rushed and so unrealistic that I think I was still wondering why the T-800 kept throwing him around and then needed a piece of metal rebar to kill him… ???

I agree with Vic that it delivers on the action goods for a summer movie,
but I thought it was a very flawed film ..
I think it will make a lot less money next week when people realize the Hero died at the end.
The real Hero of this story was Marcus Wright ,
not John Connor.
MCG managed to make John Connor a supporting character in his own story.
