New ‘Terminator Salvation’ & ‘Crank 2′ Posters

Yesterday, the final poster for Crank 2: High Voltage appeared online in addition to a brand new one for Terminator Salvation.
We’ll start with the good one first: The new Terminator poster. Like the other Terminator Salvation images and posters, this one is pretty cool. In it, we see head of a destroyed Terminator unit being held by a resistance fighter – finally a poster that shows something positive for the good guys!
Next we have Crank which is just Jason Statham on a yellow background. That’s it. This particular poster interestingly was first revealed through Lionsgate’s Twitter account.
I’m not excited for the Crank sequel and if I was, perhaps this poster would be pretty cool. I barely enjoyed the first one and I didn’t enjoy Transporter 3 so I’m getting pretty tired of these Jason Statham solo action films. He needs to get back into good roles like his Guy Ritchie characters or Handsome Rob from The Italian Job movie (at least we may be getting more of the ladder with The Brazilian Job if it every comes out).
That being said, Statham does make for a great action-oriented character I just don’t like the roles he gets with them – Perhaps his character in The Expendables will be perfect.
The newest installment for the Terminator franchise however, I am very excited for. Much of that excitement came from the latest full trailer for Terminator Salvation which was incredible (That’s a must-watch if you’ve not seen it yet).

Love the terminator poster, like you I am not a big fan of most of the films Statham is in, seems like he plays the same character over and over again. I did like Death Race though and like you I did enjoy the Italian Job that I recently saw on TV. I wish he could get a different kind of action film to play in but he keeps doing the transporter movies and those just don’t interest me.
That Crank poster looks so cheaply made. Meaning that they probably spent less than 10 minutes with it and by someone new to photoshop. The previous one was WAAAAYYYYY better!
They are using a different font for the Terminator poster! It is not the original.
Come on, the new terminator is directed by McG! The movie CAN’T be good with such a bad director. I would rather Uwe Boll directs it than bloody McG. What kind of name is that anyway?
I’m a big Statham fan. The only movie of his I didn’t really care for was Crank (and Dungeon Siege, but that goes without saying). I liked Statham’s performance in Crank, I just hated the directing. That said, I probably won’t care for Crank 2 either, but there’s something about the poster that does it for me.
It’s probably the tag line.
But the Terminator one is fantastic. One of the best posters I’ve seen in years, and I’d love to have that thing hanging in my house.
I’m thinking that’s Sam Worthington’s character holding that Terminator head, after some metal on metal fighting, lol.
All of the Statham movies are so retarded now. Transporter 2 and 3 were both pretty retarded, I haven’t watched Crank but I know I’ll hate it because it’s not at all the type of movie I like, and everything I’ve read about it and seen about it look retarded as hell, and the premise of Crank 2 is so over the top retarded as well.
But some of my friends are all into all of that retardedness. Can you believe we were trying to decide what to watch and he wanted to rewatch Transporter 3 more than Aliens???? Is he nuts???

Hey he had one of the Nolan brothers working on the screenplay so that should increase your interest of the movie. Maybe McG could learn some things and create something good all on his own, didn’t he direct We Are Marshall? I thought that was a good movie.
Well, it can’t be much worse than the last one. As for Statham, i enjoy his over the top action flicks like Tranporter, i loved the first Crank, and can’t wait for the next one. Looks like a ton of great, mindless adrenaline fun.
I love Statham, he’s the heir to the Schwarzenegger throne of so bad it’s good acting.
I have my reservations on Terminator Salvation though, I feel it might be overreaching.

I never said Crank 2 looks good, it looks bad enough to be fun.
Terminator might end up being a little pretentious, given Nolan’s writing style.

I like Statham, his movies are usually pretty entertaining. I admit I have not seen Crank yet, so I will hold judgement on whether Crank 2 is justified or not…although I REALLY like Amy Smart…
Also, I’m sure I am not the only one who noticed, but in the Terminator poster the eyes on the head are still red….does that mean it’s still functional?
I’ll eat my hat if Crank 2 is worse than Terminator Salvation.
@huggy, is there really a chance in hell that it wouldn’t be? lol. I don’t know, sure McFlurry has a very mixed resume, from the horribly stupid like Charlie’s Angels to the ok like We Are Marshall, but we already know the stupidity that will ensue with Crank 2. And to be honest, I haven’t completely made up my mind about him despite Charlie’s Angels because with a script like that, I doubt even the best director in the world would have made good movies out of those… So I’m still kind of neutral (but now cautiously optimistic due to materials already released from Terminator) when it comes to that, but like I said, we already know just how “good” Crank 2 will be based on all of the other movies he’s done lately, Crank, Transporter 2, 3… War was pretty stupid too… What a waste of two decent action stars…

The thing about Crank 2 that it it is supposed to be silly and stupid! It’s a Statham over-the-top action flick.
Now, about Terminator Salvation, that’s supposed to be a masterful narrative, but it looks to me just like a bunch of special effects and no heart. So, my expectations are:
Crank 2 will be a fun, mindless satisfying movie.
Terminator Salvation will be a non-fun, confusing, soulless kaboom action goulash. McG couldn’t direct himself out of a box, let alone tackle such big project like a Terminator flick.
Mark my words. Terminator WILL suck. Chances it won’t are pretty slim, in my opinion.

mcg can always suprise us w/ a good film just like raimi suprised us w/ spiderman 3, the more exprience mcg gets as a director the more better he will get; a good director can always suprise us w/ a bad film and a bad director can always suprise us w/ a good film, so i wouldnt be quick to assume the movie will suck just b/c mcg is directing it

Pretty much like the first one, which I am still waiting to here from my lawyers about the lawsuit I filed to reimburse me for the hour-and-a-half’s worth of time I spent on thatridiculously stupid, waste of celluloid, pile of dung of a movie.

Ok, here’s the deal. I bet 10 galactic invisible dollars Crank 2 will have a higher score on rotten tomatoes than Terminator “unnecessary sequel by a lousy filmmaker” Salvation.
Well, the rest of you guys, we all have our different opinions, i just presume the movie will suck, and i hope i’m wrong, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

There’s a lot of teenage video game aggression out there that doesn’t care a lick about a good story. Crank 2 relies on that and guess what … I hear they are now on the interwebs.
