Ken have to disagree as “Terminator” was a decent size action film for its day.
It had some major production players, up and coming actors, top notch direction and special effects.

If you were to look at all sci-fi genre films in that time (1984), you would see that they all have a B movie quality to them compared to todays films… Its all a matter of cinema timeline perspective……..

Actually, technically it was a B-movie, it was made independently on a small budget. The definition of a B-movie. But that’s not saying it isn’t good, in fact, it turned out to be one of the greatest action films of all time, and that’s thanks to James Cameron that can take a low budget movie and make it golden. That’s why T2 had a much bigger budget! Well, that and Aliens, haha. I’m not dissing T1, I loved that movie, one of my top 5 easily.

I didn’t hate T4 either. I thought Sam Worthington did quite well in it. And I liked the action scenes, but the story didn’t really make much sense, and in my opinion, it didn’t really fit into the whole Terminator universe set by T1 and T2. While T1 was an action B-movie, T2 was a very serious action-drama, and I was hoping for some of that, but this one was more just a sci-fi action movie… I enjoyed it, but it’ll be hard to argue that it was actually written well, because it wasn’t…

I didn’t hate it, I just thought many things could have been done differently. I enjoyed Sam and yelchin in their roles and enjoyed it because it was a terminator movie. Just needed a better script and more terminators.

I guess im the only one who thought t4 was good, and im a seriously difficult fan to impress. i mean i didnt get excited about christian bale being in it, but everyone else rocked it. and the story made sense and was dramatic and rolled on without getting stuck or jettisoning the plot.
my worry about their losing the rights is it might take too many years before a reboot becomes viable. And that means they will likely lose any heat behind the project
