For fans of movie franchises, one of the most difficult things besides the wait for the latest instalment to arrive is avoiding any potential spoilers. Spoilers come in varying degrees and often what is or isn’t a spoiler is entirely subjective. Some fans for example, considered the Duracell battery advert that aired prior to Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens’ arrival in theaters to be a blatant spoiler, while others weren’t bothered at all by it.

In the past week alone, news on the follow-up to the TMNT reboot has offered some pretty hard-hitting stuff if you’re the sort who’s particularly sensitive to potential spoilers. Often, new information on an upcoming sequel or highly anticipated film comes slowly but surely, without too much given away at once. This however, does not appear to be the case with TMNT 2: Out of the Shadows.

As the merchandising front kicks into gear for this Ninja Turtles sequel, the probability of spoilers has become a real possibility. Next month’s Toy Fair 2016 in New York City is likely the place for the new line of TMNT action figures from Playmates Toys to arrive and some new scans of said action figures are already online.

Perhaps the biggest piece of news here is the Krang action figure. The villain that fans of the animated series will all remember, is due to arrive in Out of the Shadows, but since learning of this (less than two days ago), no one has had any idea what exactly a somewhat rebooted Krang could look like. The new action figure does appear to lack an abundance of tentacles, which coincides with producer Michael Bay’s previous directive to avoid making Krang resemble a "stupid octopus". Beyond this, the difference between the action figure and Krang’s general appearance in the animated TMNT series is rather minimal.

In addition to getting our first glimpse at Krang, Playmates have also revealed a new Shredder, as well as the Technodrome. The Technodrome has been central to Shredder and Krang’s nefarious activities for some time now and its inclusion in the rebooted TMNT universe comes as even more dressing for what some might argue is an already bloated sequel.

At present, Out of The Shadows will offer Shredder, Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady, Casey Jones, The Technodrome – as well as Splinter and of course, the ninja turtles themselves. That might not seem like too much, but any movie that wants to do justice to such a lengthy list of popular characters is going to have a hard time providing adequate screen time for all.

Still, the fact that some of these characters have been added into the mix opens the door for more involvement in subsequent TMNT movies. Depending on the box office numbers for Out of The Shadows, there’s every reason to believe that future TMNT movies are a possibility – providing further opportunity for each one of these these characters to receive his or her time in the spotlight.
