‘Teen Wolf’ Season 4 Trailer: Monsters, Assassins & Monster Assassins

Published 11 months ago by

Don’t let the name deceive you: MTV’s Teen Wolf has long since expanded from its original focus on teenager Scott McCall and the hairy side effects of his run-in with a rogue werewolf. By the end of season 3, the show’s ragtag group of humans and not-so-humans had featured lizard monsters, banshees, Japanese fox demons, druids and a magical tree stump.

With the arrival of season 4 right around the corner, MTV has now released an extended trailer for Teen Wolf that shows a little of what’s to come on the show. In a word: trouble. The supernatural residents of Beacon Hills have been placed on a dead pool (no, not that Deadpool) that makes them a target for assassins who have been hired by a mysterious new enemy known only as The Benefactor.

After a couple of deaths last season and the departure of Daniel Sharman, who played Isaac, Teen Wolf‘s cast has been replenished with some new regulars. Malia (Shelley Hennig) the werecoyote joins the main group of teens at Beacon Hills High School, and she’ll probably need some help getting caught up after missing out on eight years of education. Newcomer Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) has also joined BHHS’ lacrosse team and seems to be displaying unnatural ball-handling skills. Hunter-gone-bad Kate Argent (Jill Wagner) is also back, and now she has a new set of claws.

The trailer also features a number of as-yet unidentified supernatural creatures, including some that appear to be in cahoots with Kate and one odd-looking gentleman who doesn’t have a mouth. This new mix of bad guys means a lot more slow-motion fight scenes including swords, axes, guns, silver stakes, teeth and claws.

It also wouldn’t be a Teen Wolf trailer without a few shots of the male cast members with their shirts off and various combinations of characters making out. You can’t have a show about teenagers without a few hormones flying around.

Teen Wolf returns to MTV on Monday June 23rd @10pm.

  1. People still watching this?

    • Why wouldn’t they? It’s a good show, as said both by fans and TV critics.

      • +1 Love this show, i need my weekly fix of Scott/Stiles bromance :D

  2. Looks good. Though I really wish they wouldn’t have so much sex (straight, gay, doesn’t matter). These are supposed to be teenagers and it’s really over the top. I’m sure I’m just an old fart that needs to “get with the times”, but my wife and I loathe that part of the show. I don’t want to watch, what are supposed to be kids, rolling around with each other.

  3. Lol, I just thought when will season 4 start, and here I found out, Its not as bad as people make it out to be, and its not just for teenagers or just teenage girls imo, though many enjoy it crazily, also you wont enjoy it if you’re like my brother who wants a hairy rabid-werewolf who just turns only on the full moon, like Professor Lupin, I think he enjoyed that in the Harry Potter movie, which I think was the only good thing about the third movie, creatures I mean, Dementors, Hippogriff, Werewolf, Snuffles & Hedwig.

  4. Damn…

You guys ever have an idea to do something, like involving xenomorphs and classic monsters and pitting them against each other, then pitting them against hunters, then doing more crazy monsters?

Yeah. I feel like I waste a lot of time writing when someone already has the idea out there. :-<

    • Not wasted !
I hear you man,and totally get your point !
      Times changed sadly !

  5. What surprises me most is that this has hit a 4th season.

    • Well, since there was a season 3 before this, that’s usually how these things work.

    • Considering it’s doing almost twice as better as Awkward and Faking It, both MTV shows too, that it was consistently beating other scripted cable shows in its slot in S3B and that it’s the most popular TV show MTV has ever had, its renewal was a no-brainer.

  6. I hated season 1.One of the worst ever. But then it got better in season 2 and I’ve been a fan ever since. The trailer looks pretty cool. Can’t wait for this

  7. Teen wolf was such a revelation. When I checked it out during season 1 – just because I had nothing better to do – I never expected this little silly show to turn out to become THE best supernatural tv serie on tv. The first one who was able to mix humor and horror like Buffy and Angel did back in the days.

Every new arc has been better than the previous one – for me. I can’t wait to see more, the trailer looks bad ass.

BTW, the Benefactor is soooo gonne be Gerard. He has connections with the Mexican hunters and he could be looking for Kate, now that she transformed. I also feel like this will be connected to Allison dying. Still can’t believe this happened, that girl was THE best :(

And the look of the villains are awesome.
