Rapunzel and Flynn in Disneys Tangled Disneys Tangled Teaser Trailer and Images

On November 24th, Disney Animation will release its 50th animated feature, Tangled. The film is a loose adaptation of the famous Rapunzel fairy tale. The animated film features the voices of Mandy Moore as Rapunzel and Chuck‘s Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider.

The tale, originally written by the Brothers Grimm, has been slightly tweaked by Disney. The new version follows a bandit (Levi) who stumbles upon a tower housing the beautiful Rapunzel (Moore). The two embark on a romantic action-comedy adventure across a mysterious landscape full of ridiculous creatures and deadly turns.

Co-directed by Byron Howard (Bolt) and Nathan Greno, the Tangled is a milestone for one of the pioneers in animation. While the best work from Disney shines through their relationship with Pixar, this film should still capture the wonder of a truly beloved fairy tale.

The teaser trailer only reveals the plot, but also gives a taste of the voice work from Moore and Levi. They sound a bit distant in age, but it may play nicely given the story. Moore is famous for her singing voice, but the musical segments will give us a first listen at Levi’s vocal talents.

The released stills from Tangled are mighty impressive. The artwork is sleek and colorful. Although we don’t know if it will be in 3D, the film sure looks like it would benefit from the added dimension. Thanks to Rope of Silicon, the images below display the wide range of locales and colors that will be explored in the film.

While some want this film to revert back to its original working title, Rapunzel, it likely won’t matter. Disney has a knack for telling great stories in a family-friendly way that rakes in big numbers at the box office. At 50 films, the animation studio has something to be proud of, regardless of the quality of Tangled.

The animation genre has taken action/adventure to great places. The medium is perfect for exploring the impossible and this film seems like it will benefit from the unlimited power of animation imagination (see what I did there?).

Does this look like a Disney film you want to see? What is your favorite Disney animated film out of the 50 they’ve released? Discuss these questions and more in the comments section below.

Tangled will release in limited theaters on November 12th, 2010. A wide release is scheduled for November 24th, 2010.

  1. My favrite is Beauty and The Beast.
It looks like they changed the title so people wouldnt realize right away that it was the story of Rapunzel.

  2. i love almost anything Disney does so i will definatly see it. i was really hoping for more of a trailer when you guys posted this but frankly, i already saw this months ago on youtube, nothing new.

hopefully a better trailer comes out soon.

And i think Disney animation will be on the up-swing since John Lasseter took over the animation department

    • ahh sorry for the letdown nowheredan. since it was the first time we posted anything about the film, it seemed right to provide that small teaser.
