Hey Jamie! How’s it going dude? Pretty standard procedure I agree.

I wonder how coy JJ is going to play with the marketing for this show. Could he really string us all along to the very end?

I could see him building on the teaser by keeping the focus on building the link between our present and the Star Trek future.

If so, then any marketing info could be focused on the environment instead of the characters. We could get glimpses of some of the fabulous SFX shots for the space sequences that are being created and very little or maybe - GASP! - none of the characters!!!

It would be an interesting way to proceed.

I think they should have went later into the Star Trek mythos and not earlier…They could have amped up a later gen Star Trek that could have had a more military/darker tone becuase the Federation had some awesome technology like the phase shifting/cloaked Enterprise from the next Gen that could have made some great storylines from the Federation at war angle…I think JJ is a little overrated too!!

for greenknight,

I think they tried that with the last few movies and failed horribly

no one, and i mean NO ONE wants to see another new stupid race like in insurrection or Nemesis, what bad ideas. First contact was solid though I have to say.

JJ knows how to make something exciting and how to build even more excitement on top of that. Showing as little as possible but enough to give is hints is amazingly effective. I think the idea is go back to the good ‘ol trek days where the environment isn’t defiled with rediculous amounts of colour and crazy technologies for every situation and need possible. I also think going back to something familiar will bring in all trek fans and give new fans something to familiarize with. Also with the young cast, the sequel opportunities are there however I can’t imagine how they can tie into continuity with sequels.

What he’s doing is good, and from what i’m reading, they will heavily emphasize the massiveness and sheer power of the first enterprise which never been done correctly in any of the trek shows/movies.

This will be one of the most exciting movies ever to see in theatre, for me anyways. Seeing a GOOD trek movie, and having it done by one of my favourite ppl, JJ.

I think you’ll love the movie greenkight ;)
