Waiting on the aftermath of a True Blood season finale can sometimes feel more torturous than waiting on the results of a final paper. That said, if you consider yourself a true die hard fan of the show, then waiting on the results can at times feel like waiting on the results of a pregnancy test – only the pacing, over contemplating, and nail biting can last anywhere from 8-9 months until you finally know the ultimate results, and by that time the baby will have already arrived.

As a result, any tidbit of True Blood content is welcome – to help the wait pass by.

To that end, True Blood Outreach has released the first of three fan posters HBO plans on using to promote the fifth season of its insanely popular vampire ...

Click to continue reading First of Three ‘True Blood’ Season 5 Fan Posters Is a Bloody Mess

If you’re a fan of HBO’s immensely popular supernatural soap opera True Blood, then you walk around everyday with phrases etched in your brain such as “Glamour”, “Fangbanger”, and “V”. Of course, if you were to use these words around non-fans of the show, then they would probably have absolutely no idea what you’re speaking about, and you would probably be looked at much the same way as a werewolf that set foot inside Fangtasia.

It’s time to get in that Bon Temps state of mind, as HBO has released the first official trailer for True Blood season 5.

Picking up from the True Blood season 4 finale, the 30-second trailer begins with Sookie digging a grave outside her house. Continuing with an unknown voice as voiceover, we’re met with a series of quick shots (largely involving vampires) as well as some explosions. Of course.

You can watch the True Blood season 5 trailer below:

For True Blood, season 5 may serve to be the eventual tipping point with the fans. While the last few seasons of the hit HBO series have been largely hit-or-miss in terms of execution, last season’s numerous concurrent storylines, ever-expanding cast and convoluted resolutions (or deaths – spoilers!) help secured ...

Click to continue reading ‘True Blood’ Season 5 Trailer Brings Explosions (And Vampires)

While True Blood owes its existence to author Charlaine Harris and her Southern Vampire Mysteries series of books, there’s no denying that it owes its popularity to creator and showrunner Alan Ball.
The HBO series True Blood has a wide variety of supernatural characters that keep viewers returning to the series every week (well, among other things). The series regularly features new creatures who wield a various array of exotic powers – from the well-known vampires, witches and werewolves to new twists on classic creatures like “were-panthers.” If you’re new to the series (or even if you’re not) – our friends over at Direct TV True Blood have created an infographic that breaks down all the different creature types on the show, along with their weaknesses, powers and how to become one within the context of the series.

Following last week’s episode of True Blood - which could have been seen as a competent resolution – the “official” True Blood season 4 finale feels like nothing more than an unnecessary addition to a series that’s on verge of proverbially imploding because of its tendency to follow operatic logic while continuously positioning itself as a fantastical drama.

Despite adequately concluding the myriad of concurrent storylines and subplots that have run rampant throughout the series’ evolution, the True Blood season 4 finale was also a cavalcade of ridiculousness wrapped in a veil of poorly executed scenes and a litany of “twists” that serve no other purpose than to reduce the number of actors the series has to employ.

Love it or hate it, HBO’s hit vampire series True Blood shows no signs of slowing down – especially now that show creator Alan Ball announced today that he has just signed a new contract with HBO for another season.

Speaking at the True Blood panel for the summer Television Critics Association press tour, Ball laid to rest the rumors that fans have been spreading about True Blood coming to an end. Following True Blood season 2’s premiere, HBO quickly renewed the series for a third and fourth season.
HBO’s smash hit guilty pleasure True Blood is taking the San Diego Comic-Con in force, and Screen Rant is here to cover it all. The show is here for its fourth year straight, and thousands of people have crammed themselves into Ballroom 20 to see the stars and producers.

True Blood just started Season 4 in June, and the sex and violence is as potent as ever. Sookie (Anna Paquin) returns to the vampire, were creature and witch-infested world of Louisiana after brief trip to fairyland. (That not a metaphor or anything. She actually went to fairyland.)

The Comic-Con panel will feature a HUGE group of actors: Alan Ball (AB), Anna Paquin (AP), Stephen Moyer (SM), Sam Trammell (ST), Ryan Kwanten (RK), Rutina Wesley (RW), Kevin Alejandro (KA), Kristin Bauer (KB), Nelsan Ellis ...

Click to continue reading Comic-Con 2011: ‘True Blood’ Panel

Even though the continuing adventures of Sookie Stackhouse in True Blood season 4 are just beginning, plans are already underway for the next season of HBO’s hit series – plans that include the long-awaited return of Russell Edgington.

Speaking with Film School Rejects, Denis O’Hare confirmed that he will be returning as the one-time vampire king of Mississippi when the fifth season of True Blood begins.
Despite the fact True Blood fans either love or hate the season 4 premiere, there’s one thing that’s absolutely certain: they want to see what’s going to happen next. Fortunately, you can. Right now!

Continuing HBO’s forward-thinking nature towards television viewing, the hit cable network has decided to make the second episode of their hit vampire series available on their online streaming service, HBO GO.

After last night’s True Blood season 4 premiere, fans were left wondering what Eric’s vampiric threat of “You are now mine!” would mean.
Following last season’s lack-luster finale of conflicting character story-arcs and poor story progression, the True Blood season 4 premiere attempts to beautifully refocus HBO’s hit vampire drama with an entertaining storyline and masterful handling of the series’ ever growing cast.

As Sookie (Anna Paquin) gracefully traveled into the mysterious fairy world in the season 3 finale, fans of the series were left wondering what the outcome would bring to the series’ proverbial femme fatale.
HBO is bringing a bit of Westeros and Bon Temps to Comic-Con 2011, with the recently-announced panels for their hit series Game of Thrones and True Blood.

With two cult-hit series on their hands, HBO is once again tapping into their core audience at Comic-Con. While those in Hall H are likely dreading the fanatic craze that Twilight is expected to bring, it appears that Ballroom 20 has just received its television counterparts – both in size, and in fanaticism.

An enormous list of cinematic greats headlines this week's DVD and Blu-ray releases, but 'Drive Angry' and 'Biutiful' will try their best to battle the Blu-ray re-releases for home video supremacy.

This is an absolutely mammoth week for Blu-ray fans. New releases include Biutiful, Drive Angry and True Blood Season 3, but all of these pale in comparison to the classics hitting Blu-ray this week.

Everything from the much-anticipated Kubrick Collection to hilarious ’80s comedies like Back to School will arrive on shelves in stunning Blu-ray. There is heartbreak in Midnight Cowboy and laughter in City Slickers. A cowboy theme runs throughout the Blu-rays, but not all of them feature the Western motif.

The following titles can be found on DVD and Blu-ray this week:

Finally, we have a season 4 trailer for 'True Blood' that showcases Eric and Bill hilariously attempting to win back the hearts of the people - by way of politics.

It’s that time of year again. No, not just summertime, but also the time of year when True Blood returns to the airwaves and everybody – your friends, your family, your doctor, your cab-driver – starts making references to “Sookehhh” and the gang in an effort to be hip/funny.

That’s right, just one more month and the season 4 premiere of True Blood will arrive, which is probably why HBO is ramping up the previews and promos. A couple weeks ago, we had a talking heads promo and an episode 1 synopsis. Today, we have a season 4 trailer.

While season 1 of True Blood was almost entirely hit, season 2 and 3 have been hit and miss. The show is ...

Click to continue reading ‘True Blood’ Season 4 Trailer

Season four of Alan Ball's 'True Blood' is coming June 26th, and today we have a video promo for the season as well as a plot synopsis for episode one entitled 'She's Not There.'

The last two seasons of True Blood haven’t exactly blown my mind – season two’s Maryann-centric storyline was depressingly bad – but the show has been consistently entertaining and there were even moments of true greatness (Russell Edgington’s hilarious televised speech comes to mind).

Regardless, True Blood is still one of the more highly anticipated television shows of the summer season. Today, we have the first official promo for season four as well as a synopsis of the first episode, entitled “She’s Not There.”

First, the promo. I wish I could tell you that there was something especially exciting in this thing. Alas, it’s literally just a bunch of silent floating heads making various facial expressions over moody music. No more, no less. We see all the main characters from the past three ...

Click to continue reading ‘True Blood’ Season Four Promo; Episode One Plot Synopsis
