As you no doubt already know, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is currently playing in theaters everywhere and making insane amounts of money. In fact, you’ve probably already seen it twice considering how much money this thing has made in its opening week.

As of now, it’s made over a half-billion dollars worldwide in just over a week and expected to net plenty more over the weekend - that means we are absolutely guaranteed a third installment to round off the trilogy.

No matter what anyone says, or what rumors you may hear about Michael Bay, Transformers 3 will be made. It’s a guarantee.

Say what they may (and they will) about the recently released Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but I suspect they’d be singing a different tune if they were the ones laughing their way to the bank right now. In its first five days in IMAX theaters, Transformers 2 set a five-day record of $14.4 million - and that’s only 3.5% of the film’s total grosses as of June 28th: $390,240,609.

So if I were Michael Bay, it wouldn’t take too much for me to ignore the harsh criticism that Transformers 2 has garnered - but that hasn’t stopped anyone from trying to get his attention.

Well. I’ve taken some heat for reviews in the past, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen such… interesting reactions to one of my reviews as I have for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Of course I don’t really care - back in the day it used to bother me when someone flamed me for a movie review, but now I actually get a kick out of it.

This week:

The box office is Transfomed; Ryan Reynold’s career is Buried; Lorenzo di Bonaventura knows Jack Ryan; Zac Efron grows up and Daniel Craig moves into his Dream House.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has now blasted its way into theaters and IMAX and after just one day, the movie has managed to break box office records ($60 mil!), incite controversy (minstrel Autobots Mudflap and Skids), and, of course, spark (unconfirmed) rumors of an inevitable sequel.

Oh yeah, and the film has been taking a “record-breaking” beating in the review columns. Not that Michael Bay care$.

I’ve just come back from seeing Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen at my local IMAX theater, and so in addition to our official review I thought I’d take a minute to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of  opting to see Transformers 2 in IMAX.

Be warned: This post contains HEAVY SPOILERS about the film.

Short version: Just like super-sizing a McDonalds meal doesn’t make it taste any better, neither does giving us more of what was in the first film improve Transformers 2.

Regular readers here at Screen Rant are familiar with my disdain for the first Tranformers movie. While many agree with me and others disagree vehemently - both sides have been expecting me to skewer Michael Bay’s Tranformers 2. I didn’t go in expecting much, and that may have actually caused me to not judge it quite as harshly as a lot of other reviewers are doing.

Michael Bay’s upcoming blockbuster sci-fi sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had its Los Angeles premiere last week and of course all of the main players turned up, including director Michael Bay and stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel. Following the premiere there were a couple of press conferences, in which Bay and others answered questions about various different aspects of the giant robot sequel.

Today Screen Rant has the photos from the red carpet premiere of Transformers 2, as well as tons of information on what was said by the likes of Bay, screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, and some of the film’s stars.

It’s hard to believe that we are merely TWO days away from the biggest movie to be released in 2009 - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen! That’s right, all the waiting we’ve been doing for the past year and a half is about to pay off. On Thursday, Screen Rant posted up some new images for Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen and they mostly focused on some of the new robot characters we’ll be seeing in the sequel and an epic fight sequence we can expect to see.

Today we have the rest of them for you and this batch shows off the two human protagonists as well as some very cool shots of some of our Cybertronian friends.

It’s only a few more days till Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen graces the silver screens worldwide. On that note, don’t expect any slow-down in the marketing – Paramount is set on making this the biggest film of the year.

Today we have another video showing a short scene from the movie, a bunch of cool little facts and trivia and a very weird, slightly spoilerish tidbit involving one of the larger bots featured in the sequel.

While I had issues with the first Transformers like many others did, I still enjoyed it quite a bit and I find myself getting more and more excited for its sequel as the day inches closer. You guessed it, Michael Bay and this summer’s super blockbuster, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen are coming at you fast and furious and we have two new TV spots to show you.

As of today, we are less than two weeks away from the premiere of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and as a result, we’re starting to see the final wave of marketing for the movie.

The film premiered in Tokyo, Japan the other day and final touches are being done for the film to make it ready for the opening (or as ready as possible in their overly rushed schedule)

Well, there was no way news this big was going to be concealed forever, and people this is HUGE! This could bring the very existence of Hollywood into question. What is this news I speak of? It’s news that turns S1M0ne into an uncanny look at the future of cinema.

The world premiere of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was held at Roppongi Hills on June 8th in Tokyo, Japan (the film will open wide in Japan on June 19).  Those that appeared for the extravaganza were director Michael Bay and cast members Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Ramon Rodriguez, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and Isabel Lucas, and we have a boatload of photos from the event for you.

If you’re a Harry Potter fan who had to suffer the anguish of Warner Bros. delaying the latest big-screen adventure of your favorite boy wizard, I’m sorry to report that the universe is not done punishing you: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will now have to wait two weeks after its initial theatrical release before it will premiere in IMAX theaters.

Harry and Co. are on standby until Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen finishes its run in IMAX theaters, leaving Warner Bros. potentially screwed when it comes to turning a profit from Half-Blood Prince’s IMAX box office.

Michael Bay, the explosive director of this summer’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has posted a new update to his official site discussing some details regarding the IMAX version of the film as well as some other interesting tidbits.

In his post, you can tell the busy man is starting to feel some relief after premiering the film in Japan and as they near the end point of their extremely busy and rushed schedule to have the sequel to 2007’s Transformers out for this summer season. He made sure to thank his dedicated crew for their hard work in getting the project to where it is now.

You know it’s almost time for Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen to hit theaters because promotional items from the film are flying out and onto the Net daily. This week alone we’ve had Transformers 2 pics, Transformers 2 TV spots and even an interview with star Shia LeBeouf about making the film.

Well, this being Friday and all (TGIF!), Screen Rant has a double-whammy for you: six new stills from Revenge of The Fallen that are 100% kickass robots, as well as three new character wallpapers, courtesy of LG Mobile.

Last fall Shia LaBeouf answered a few questions about how he felt about Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen. He spoke candidly about how director Michael Bay is doing this time around, about his beautiful co-star Megan Fox and what kind of action we can expect from the Transformers sequel.

The sequel to 2007’s smash hit, Transformers, is only a few weeks away and that means we’ll start seeing the juiciest marketing yet for the movie. Expect to see a lot of cool new things in the next few weeks to entice you to the theaters come June 24th where they are tracking a massive five-day opening.

On that note, we have five new TV spots for Revenge of the Fallen that show off a bunch of new scenes and finally give some of the other characters from the first movie some decent screen time - Most notably, our favorite Army boys from the first film.

Of the many new Cybertronian characters we’ll finally see next month, making their big screen debuts in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the title character is the one we’ve seen the least of and know the least about. MTV sought to address this by speaking with Shia LaBeouf who revealed some new info on the character and an exclusive still from the movie featuring The Fallen.

Back in February, we got our first look at The Fallen character design but this new image is the first clear shot of him in action from an actual scene in the movie. Check it out:

Today we have a pair of brand new photos for Michael Bay’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The first image focuses on main characters Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes and the second photo is a very cool shot of Optimus Prime, heroic leader of the Autobots.

The Sam and Mikaela (played by Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox) image depicts the couple riding a motorcycle. Fox’s character apparently works at a bike shop in this film and I’m guessing this will have something to do with how we’re introduced to the Arcee character who takes the form of a motorcycle (or several).

The LA Times had a chance to sit down with director Michael Bay to discuss his career and next month’s eagerly anticipated Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The conversation touched on the extremely large scope of the film and the difficulties of having it completed in such a short amount of time considering the type of film and post-production work involved.

If you’ve been following Terminator Salvation news, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen updates, or both – Then you’ve probably heard of the little robot franchise feud between McG and Michael Bay, the directors of the two respective films, that’s been going on for a while.

Their back-and-forth ranged from Bay claiming ownership of big robots for his movies to McG wanting to measure his private parts against Bay’s. Putting that aside, let us move on to what’s really important: For John Connor, the savior of humanity against the machines, it doesn’t matter what franchise the robots come from, all of them are his enemy.

Over the months, we’ve seen plenty of material show up online for this summer’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Most of these gave us glimpses at the returning characters from the first film and of many of the new additions to the Cybertronian cast.

One of the new characters debuting in this TF2 goes by the name of Sideways and who takes the form of the luxurious Audi R8 while in vehicle mode but until now, we’ve seen so little on him.
