Matt Reeves Set to Direct ‘Twilight Zone’ Movie

Director Matt Reeves is entering a new dimension. A dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. Matt Reeves has just crossed over into The Twilight Zone.

According to a new report, Warner Bros has tapped the Cloverfield and Let Me In director to helm its upcoming feature film adaptation of Twilight Zone. The project, which attracted numerous high-profile directors, is another big win for Reeves – who is also attached to direct a Frankenstein movie, This Dark Endeavor; a vampire film, The Passage; and a sci-fi film, 8 O’Clock in the Morning (an adaptation of the short story that inspired John Carpenter’s They Live).

Twilight Zone fans will recall that the original series has been adapted for the big screen before as Twilight Zone: The Movie. ...

‘The Twilight Zone’ Movie Gets a New Writer

The last time we really checked in with this upcoming movie version of The Twilight Zone it was over a year ago when we heard that the film had snagged a screenwriter to bring it to fruition.

Today Deadline is reporting that a new writer has been brought onboard to to pen The Twilight Zone movie, which is being developed by Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way.

The new Twilight Zone writer is reportedly Jason Rothenberg. His filmography to this point is pretty scant, but is filled with some promising projects currently in development – most notably the remake of Colossus: The Forbin Project, a sci-fi tale about a supercomputer gone berserk, which is being developed by Universal and Imagine Entertainment, with Will Smith set to star and Ron Howard set ...

‘Twilight Zone’ Movie Gets Screenwriter

According to Variety, screenwriter Rand Ravich has signed on to write the latest film incarnation of the classic television series The Twilight Zone. Rand Ravich previously wrote and directed the Johnny Depp film, The Astronaut’s Wife. The Twilight Zone is being produced by Warner Bros. in conjunction with Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way.

A couple weeks back, I wrote about some of my favorite 4th of July movies. What I neglected to mention was my other favorite part of the 4th of July, watching an all-day marathon of The Twilight Zone on the Sci-Fi SyFy Channel. Man, where does time go?

Hard to believe that The Dark Knight is now a distant memory (well, I can still hear the cash registers ringing).

It’s now time to look forward to a new batch of movies. This week we have a horror remake bonanza featuring:

Leonardo DiCaprio entering The Twilight Zone, the return of Freddie Kruger in A Nightmare on Elm Street, MGM turn on the television and revisit Poltergeist and The Wolfman goes live.

1. Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way have joined forces with Warner Brothers to try and buy the rights to the Rod Serling scripted episodes of The Twilight Zone in an attempt to get a feature off the ground.
