‘The Tournament’ Has Two New Video Clips of Bad-Assery

Screen Rant has been tracking the Scott Mann-directed action thriller The Tournament for a few months. The independent film by the UK director has been shopping for a distributor for awhile now and even opened L.A. Scream Fest recently in hopes of getting picked up for US distribution. It would appear the struggling Weinstein Company has done just that but unfortunately it will be for DVD release only and it comes out this Tuesday, October 20^th.

The Tournament stars Ving Rhames (Mission Impossible), Kelly Hu (X-Men 2), Ian Somerhalder (Lost), and Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum) as a group of elite assassins that converge on an unsuspecting town to compete in a deadly game of King of the Mountain where the last man standing wins $10 million dollars and the title of the world’s greatest assassin. Exclusive Hi-Res Poster for ‘The Tournament’

Last week we posted the trailer and some movie stills for the upcoming action film The Tournament, which is directed by Scott Mann and stars Ving Rhames, Robert Carlyle and Kelly Hu. If you haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, please jump over and check it out; you will not be disappointed.

New Trailer & Stills for ‘The Tournament’

Once again, while US distributors race around beating each other up and pee their pants to bring audiences the latest lame movie idea, independent studios overseas are putting together some really interesting movies. Though it seems no studio or distributor is willing to take a chance with many of them in the US. It’s a shame really, because there are some really cool movies coming out that I personally would like to see: Black Death, Solomon Kane, and now, The Tournament.
