‘Unbreakable 2′ To Become Third ‘Night Chronicles’ Movie

Fans of M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable have spent the last decade hoping for a sequel to the 2000 film. The now less-than-heralded auteur has announced that Unbreakable 2 will make its way to the big screen – in the form of the third entry in his Night Chronicles series.

Unbreakable failed to replicate the box office and critical success of Shyamalan’s breakout hit The Sixth Sense – at least upon its initial release. The tale of a real-life superhero is now regarded by many a moviegoer as both their favorite Shyamalan film and arguably his all-around best creation.

Eerie New TV Spots For ‘Devil’

M. Night Shyamalan hopes to terrify moviegoers (for the right reasons) with Devil, the first entry in the Night Chronicles trilogy, which is being produced but not directed by the Sixth Sense filmmaker.

Devil revolves around five pedestrians – played by Geoffrey Arend, Jenny O’Hara, Logan Marshall-Green, Bojana Novakovic, and Bokeem Woodbine – who become trapped in an elevator together. A series of bizarre, violent events ensue thereafter, which eventually leads the group to believe that one of their number is actually the Devil in disguise.

Shyamalan devised the story for Devil, which was written into screenplay form by Brian Nelson and directed by Drew and John Erick Dowdle (Quarantine). Both the trailer and official poster for the film prominently featured the phrase “from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan,” which has mislead ...

M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender may very well be the worst movie of his career, but that doesn’t mean the guy can’t still come up with an interesting original story.

Take Universal’s Devil for example. The film, which is based on a Shyamalan story, revolves around a group of five individuals who are trapped in a skyscraper elevator. The twist? One of them is the Devil. If you think that sounds interesting, just wait until you see the first trailer.

Offering a mix of psychological and supernatural horror, the Devil trailer hints at a movie that is suspenseful – and will keep audiences guessing.

M. Night Shyamalan Presents…

Get used to that title, you are going to be seeing a lot more of it.

M. Night Shyamalan has signed a deal with Media Rights Capital to form The Night Chronicles, a financing and production partnership that aims to produce one thriller a year for the next three years.

Shyamalan will not direct any of these films, but he will produce them and be responsible for the stories and ideas.

So what can we expect from this new deal?

Two things.

Thrillers with twist endings and plenty of money for Shyamalan.

Media Rights’ honcho Tory Metzger said:

“These films will be based on ideas in keeping with what has made Night so successful, and has made him unique to his time.”

No firm plans have been set yet, but M.Night has two possible projects that may get the ball rolling.
