The 2009 David Duchovny film 'The Joneses' is making its way to ABC as a TV series from 'Life Unexpected' creator Liz Tigelaar.

ABC is reportedly working on an adaptation of the smart, but largely overlooked, film The Joneses starring David Duchovny and Demi Moore into a TV series continuing the exploits of a fake family comprised of ‘stealth marketers’ peddling corporate wares to their neighbors.

Liz Tigelaar, a veteran television writer and producer whose credits include Dawson’s Creek, American Dreams and the aforementioned Life Unexpected on The CW – which she also created and served as executive producer on during its short run – is developing the series for ABC.

As mentioned, the series will be adapting the film written and directed by Derrick Borte, which also starred Ben Hollingsworth (Suits) and Amber Heard (Drive Angry 3D, The Playboy Club).

In the film, the titular family of The Joneses appeared to ...

Click to continue reading ‘The Joneses’ Being Developed As A TV Series For ABC

This week:

There is a box office round-up and we check out Viggo Mortensen’s involvement in The Hobbit; Jude Law teams up with Sherlock Holmes; David Duchovny and Demi Moore keep up with The Joneses; Owen Wilson bites back in Blood Brothers and Jason Statham eyes The Grabbers.

Box Office

Samuel L. Jackson looks set to arrest the number one spot with the thriller Lakeview Terrace. The film should capture around $15 million over the weekend. If you thought that the film was good or if it looks interesting I’d recommend checking out Kurt Russell’s Unlawful Entry or the 1951 film The Prowler.

Meanwhile Burn After Reading should nestle in the number two position with around $11 million. The Coen brothers seem to be on a pretty good roll, with the George Clooney/ Brad Pitt flick having a total cume of $35 million. Word of mouth on Righteous Kill appears to be bad ...

Click to continue reading Weekend Movie News Wrap Up: September 21, 2008
