Marvel's President of Consumer Products revealed that, in conjunction with Guillermo del Toro's 'Hulk' TV show, they're developing a third 'Hulk' movie for release in 2015.

One of the most surprising developments in The Avengers, based on early reviews and reactions, is that the Incredible Hulk is finally awesome on the big screen. In fact, it has been said on more than one occasion that the Hulk steals the entire show.

Perhaps as a result of that success, Marvel’s President of Consumer Products, Paul Glitter, recently talked about Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming television adaptation of The Hulk and spinning it off as a major motion picture in 2015. Scroll down for details.

According to Paul Glitter, courtesy of Forbes:

“[After spinning 'Hulk'] off to a stand-alone [television] program next year, [Marvel will support said program with a big-budget feature film in 2015].”

A handful of websites (not ours) go invited to the set of The Avengers last this year, and now they are releasing the details of that visit online. If you want to hear Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) director Joss Whedon and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige all discuss the most epic superhero teamup film of all time, you’ve come to the right place.

We have done the good deed of condensing all of the choice quotes from The Avengers cast and crew interviews into one transcript, with links at the end to the longer interviews, which are available in both print and audio form over on Collider.

Everyone knows that when it comes to comic book movies, studios sign multi-picture contracts with their talent with the hope they can make sequels and retain their cast at affordable rates. To no surprise then, actor Tim Blake Nelson who played a key role in The Incredible Hulk has a deal in place that could bring him back for The Incredible Hulk 2.

The only issue then is that there may not be another Hulk solo film for quite sometime. The Incredible Hulk banked similar box office results compared to its Ang Lee-directed predecessor and earned fairly positive reviews, but it didn’t bring in the Iron Man money some hoped it could. After Ed Norton parted ways with Marvel Studios and was replaced ...

Click to continue reading Tim Blake Nelson Signed For More ‘Hulk’ Movies

While at New York Comic Con, promoting his ex-CIA agent role, starring alongside Cate Blanchett (Robin Hood) and Saoirse Ronan (Atonement) in director Joe Wright’s, Hanna, former Hulk, Eric Bana, offered a few thoughts on Marvel’s Mean-Green-Machine casting troubles.

Though he was there to promote Hanna, Bana took a minute to answer a question about the recent controversy surrounding Edward Norton’s exit from the Hulk role - as well as the decision to have Mark Ruffalo step in for the Avengers (as Bruce Banner and his CGI anti-hero) as well as any potential Hulk sequels.

Yesterday we rekindled the discussion on what plans Marvel Studios has in store for moviegoers post-The Avengers. We’ve listed the possibilities more than once for what Marvel films may enter production next, based on interviews with Marvel Execs and actors, and from official signings of writers and other talent.

What, or who, gave rise to the topic again was Marvel President of Consumer Products for Marvel, Paul Gitter, revealing that Marvel is at work behind the scenes, setting up the schedule of releases for the next few years, which will culminate to an epic conclusion of sorts come 2017. We still have no confirmation on what projects will hit theaters for the years in between, but actor Mark Ruffalo hints that there will be Avengers sequels and a possible new Hulk ...

Click to continue reading Mark Ruffalo Hints At ‘Avengers’ Sequels & New ‘Hulk’ Movie

As Edward Norton reveals his desire to play a comic book villain for Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman 3, his comic book hero replacement Mark Ruffalo prepares to bring Bruce Banner to the big screen in Marvel Studios’ The Avengers. While some fans scoffed at the importance of an actor to play Banner in the epic team-up film, assuming his alter ego The Hulk would be taking most, if not all of the the bipolar character’s screentime, Ruffalo will do you one better.

Although the fact that Mark Ruffalo will be playing Bruce Banner in The Avengers seems to have settled in nicely since the time of announcement, the replacing of Ed Norton was a big issue among many comic and movie fans alike at the time. The reports of Ruffalo’s signing leading up to San Diego Comic-Con were finally confirmed on that very special day, during that very special Marvel Studios presentation in Hall H, in front of 6000 screaming fans.

No one can deny Ruffalo’s talent or likability and we can rest assured that he will bring justice to the role and serve the team-mentality of The Avengers project, both onscreen and behind-the-scenes. While summer blockbusters aren’t the typical gig Ruffalo goes for, he explained recently why it ...

Click to continue reading Mark Ruffalo Talks About Why He Accepted Hulk Role

One of the newest members of the cast of The Avengers, Mark Ruffalo, has to step into some big shoes as the new Bruce Banner/Hulk and win over fans who are still skeptical or down on the idea of replacing Ed Norton.

During the Marvel Studios presentation for Thor and The First Avenger: Captain America last Saturday at Comic-Con 2010, the surprise announcement at the end of the panel was the official unveiling of the logo, core cast and director of The Avengers. Mark Ruffalo was an important piece of that but unfortunately he is unfairly subjected to a somewhat awkward situation due to the Ed Norton-Marvel fallout.

By far biggest panel and one of the biggest news-generating events at this year’s Comic-Con was of course, Marvel Studios’ presentation for Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America and The Avengers. Of the revelations and announcements made by Marvel, the most controversial is Mark Ruffalo’s taking over of the character Bruce Banner from The Incredible Hulk star Ed Norton.

Marvel Studios directors Jon Favreau and Joss Whedon were both questioned on the matter of replacing Ed Norton and the challenge of breaking continuity.
It’s been a big month for Marvel Studios news and if the earlier report about their plans for San Diego Comic-Con has any truth to it, it got a lot bigger.

A few weeks ago we wrote about the rumor that the folks at Marvel were looking into the strategy of introducing members of their vast line-up of lesser known characters through short films attached to the theatrical releases of their tentpole big budget superhero epics. What that means for us moviegoers is that, like Disney does with Pixar films (remember, Disney owns Marvel now), we could start seeing The Avengers among other upcoming flicks showcasing 10-minute shorts for the likes of Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Dr. Strange and other characters the studio is interested in adding to ...

Click to continue reading Marvel Studios’ Panel Plans For Comic-Con 2010

Marvel is having a really tough time controlling how comic book movie fans receive information regarding their upcoming films. First was the way they handled the ridiculous casting rumors surrounding Captain America. Then there was the Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye rumor that was dropped then reported as untrue, then later “leaked” as true. People are still trying to figure that one out.

Now they seem to be having the same rumor mill control problem regarding which members may or may not turn up in the forthcoming The Avengers film, specifically whether The Hulk will making a smashing appearance. Edward Norton has already said he would be available to play Dr. Bruce Banner again if called upon but that Marvel hasn’t made the commitment to having The Hulk in The ...

Click to continue reading Jon Favreau Says The Hulk is in The Avengers

A hot topic for Marvel movie fans ever since The Incredible Hulk debuted the same summer as Iron Man in 2008 is whether or not Edward Norton would be back to reprise the role in a sequel, or more importantly, The Avengers. There were some widely publicized disagreements between Norton and Marvel about what version of the film made the final cut and ever since then, it’s been unclear on his future with the studio and their franchise plans.

MTV had the opportunity to speak with Ed Norton about his new charity project, Crowdrise.com, and took some time to discuss the Marvel movie universe. While he said he hadn’t yet seen Iron Man 2 – a movie he was once ...

Click to continue reading Edward Norton In For The Avengers If You Want Him To Be

Louis Leterrier, the man responsible for making the on-screen incarnation of Marvel Comics’ big green brute cool again with The Incredible Hulk is still on the prowl for more work with Marvel Studios. His Hulk re-do debuted alongside Iron Man in the summer of 2008 to relatively strong fan and critical reception. While there were issues about what cut of the film made a theatrical release for star Ed Norton, the film was solid and accomplished what it needed to.

Since that time, Leterrier has made it abundantly clear that he wishes to do another Marvel film and he’s contracted for at least one more. While chances of The Incredible Hulk 2 going into production anytime soon are slim, we know The Avengers are coming and that Leterrier is definitely interested. ...

Click to continue reading Louis Leterrier Could Direct The Avengers

The major question regarding Marvel Studios’ plans to bring all their big screen superheroes together for the team-up epic, The Avengers, is simply ‘Who’s going to be in it?’

While we can confirm that The Avengers roster will include the big three of Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, it hasn’t been so clear about whether or not Bruce Banner and his big green alter ego will sign up as well. Over the past year, there have been numerous interviews with actor Ed Norton about whether or not he’ll be back and his answers ranged from little hints of what the future of the Hulk could entail to a seemingly lack of interest in being a part of ...

Click to continue reading Ed Norton Now More Likely To Return For The Avengers? In the roundtable interview he was asked about the future of his character General Ross for the in-development films at Marvel Studios.

As for appearances in either Iron Man 2 or Thor, he said he wasn’t contacted but that if Marvel called him up about it, he’d certainly answer.
Yesterday, I read online snippets from an SFX Magazine interview with Marvel President of Production Kevin Feige where he talked about Marvel Studios establishing their key characters on their own and how they were fortunate that it worked beautifully for Iron Man, their first self-financed film. This was of course absolutely necessary for the plans of a lead-up to the Avengers movie to be made a reality for Marvel Studios.

In his discussion, Feige continued to explain that once each character is known and bankable on their own to mainstream movie-going audiences, only then can they come together to save the world in what might be one of the most ambitious film projects ever: The Avengers.
[Update: We now have a clip from Planet Hulk]

On February 2nd Marvel Animation will unveil their newest animated feature, Planet Hulk, which is based on writer Greg Pak’s 2006-2007 storyline from The Incredible Hulk comic books.

I had a chance to catch a screening of Planet Hulk this past week, and I have to say: It’s pretty entertaining. Greg Pak’s storyline helped catapult the Hulk back into limelight (no pun) and not having read the comic, I could see why after viewing the movie: this is the kind of Hulk story people want to see. It’s Hulk totally unleashed and smashing things harder than ever, with characters and villains who are more of a match for the green giant – and best of all, a story in which Hulk, the monster, is transformed into a bonafide hero.
