‘Avatar’ Tops List of Most Pirated Movies in 2010

There are plenty of threats to the entertainment industry every year, but movie piracy consistently comes up as the biggest. Authorities continue to seek avenues to shut down the illegal downloading of movies, but apparently it is not enough. In 2010, nearly 100 million downloads were recorded – and those were just the top ten most pirated movies of the year.

The misconception with pirated movies is that those who watch on their computer are not actually going to the theater. For the most part, we can assume this is true. But when a film like Avatar comes in at the top spot with 16.5 million illegal downloads, one must wonder how many of those people also contributed to the movie’s record-breaking $2.7 billion at the worldwide box office.

Behind-The-Scenes Of ‘Green Zone’

A new featurette that takes us behind the scenes of Paul Greengrass’ Green Zone has just been released by Universal. If you found the previous trailers too heavy on action and not heavy enough on letting us in on the story, then this featurette will help remedy that. It’s basically Greengrass and star Matt Damon talking at different points during the trailer to tell us the type of movie it is, hinting at where the story goes, what their aims for it were and how it compares to the Bourne films they worked on together (me and a lot of other people thought Green Zone looked like “Bourne in Iraq”).

Action-Packed Green Zone Trailer

Director Paul Greengrass and star Matt Damon have teamed up again for another high-paced action thriller, Green Zone, and the brand new international trailer for it has been made available online.

Green Zone is inspired by the Rajiv Chandrasekaran book, “Imperial Life in the Emerald City” and the first trailer for the flick debuted online last week alongside Damon’s other upcoming movie, Invictus.

Matt Damon Trailer Double-Bill: ‘Green Zone’ & ‘Invictus’

Just recently a couple of trailers appeared online for two highly-anticipated films starring Matt Damon: Paul Greengrass’ Green Zone and Clint Eastwood’s Invictus. They are very different types of movies – Green Zone being like Bourne set during the Iraq War and Invictus looking like one of those biopics that is clearly “Oscar-ish.” Check out both of the trailers below.

Wolfman And Matt Damon’s ‘Green Zone’ Moved To 2010

Variety is reporting that the latest take on The Wolfman and the Matt Damon/Paul Greengrass war-drama/thriller, Green Zone, have both been shifted to 2010 by Universal Pictures. Both films originally had a release date set for late this year.

We recently reported on The Wolfman‘s shooting troubles: the filmmakers had to do a series of reshoots, which included a whole new redesign of The Wolfman’s look. The film previously had a February, then April, then November 2009 release date (talk about rescheduling), but I guess the shooting issues effectively forced the studio’s hand and now the film is set to debut on February 12, 2010 – a time of year that has traditionaly used as a dumping ground for bad films.
