The Descendants (2011)
Based off of the 2007 novel, The Descendants is a comedy-drama that follows Hawaii attorney Matthew King and his family as they are forced to reckon with the family land inheritance from Matt's father. Pressured to sell the land and split it up amongst his financially irresponsible extended family, Matt struggles to deal with the burden after his wife falls into a coma, leaving him to care for his two children in her absence.
