The American car: few things define an individual better than the car they drive and nothing better defines a movie or TV series than the car the lead character drives. For years people from all walks of life were known by their cars and that recognition spilled over into TV shows and movies in a big way.

Throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s cars played a big part in just about every TV series and film – to the point that audiences would see the car and immediately associate it with a particular (entertainment) brand. DVD/Blu-ray Breakdown: December 14th, 2010

This week is one of the biggest of the year for new releases on DVD and Blu-ray. Eight titles hit shelves just in time for the Holidays.

Every single genre (except horror) it seems will be available in this week’s slate of home video releases. Everything seems to come out today, from low-budget indies like Cyrus to action blockbusters like The A-Team.

There are even two animated features and a few Warner Bros. titles that made big waves at the box office and with critics.

Box Office

Despicable Me was the box office champ over the weekend. The Steve Carell voiced 3D toon should gross an impressive $58 million by Monday morning. In addition to Carell the film also stars the vocal talents of Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews, Will Arnett, Kristin Wiig, and Men In Black 3 villain Jemaine Clement.

Vampire film Twilight: Eclipse saw a big bite taken out of its grosses. The sequel dipped over 50%, but a healthy $31 million more in box office revenue brings the film to an impressive $235 million. Almost enough ...

Toy Story shows Jonah Hex that making money at the box office isn’t child’s play; Miley Cyrus decides to Wake; Louis Leterrier loses Gravity; Robert Downey Jr. is the new Steve McQueen in Yucatan; Sam Worthington and McG Mean War and lots more.

Box Office

Toy Story 3 did the massive business that everybody anticipated. The second animated sequel in the fifteen year old franchise should score a massive $111 million over the weekend. The Disney/Pixar film has the added bonus of showing on 3D screens, but it should also enjoy strong legs and play quite well into the summer.

The Karate Kid is kicking serious butt at the box office. The Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan film should have a weekend take of just under $29 million. By the time alarm clocks go ...

Box Office

It was expected to be a close battle between The Karate Kid and The A-Team over the weekend. Both were modern interpretations of fondly remembered 80s pop culture, but it wasn’t a close call after all. The Karate Kid kicked The A-Team’s butt.

It’s been a fairly weak 2010 summer movie season… Iron Man 2 was OK but didn’t live up to the first film, Nightmare on Elm Street was mediocre at best, some folks liked Robin Hood (although it’s not what I’d call summer movie fare), Get Him to the Greek had its moments but was no Hangover and despite trying hard, The Losers was, well, a loser. At least we had Kick-Ass…

So while there hasn’t been anything that you could really call a summer popcorn movie home run, I’m here to tell you that The A-Team comes pretty darn close.

New ‘A-Team’ Clips [Updated]

[Update: We have even more new A-Team clips to share!]

One of this summer’s action movies that I’m most curious about is The A-Team, the modern-day big-screen adaptation of the classic ’80s TV series.

The reason I say “curious” is simply because it has just as much potential to suck as it does to be awesome. From what we’ve seen so far the latter looks more likely, but you never know with movies like this – could end up being good popcorn fun.

To add to the awesome side of the fence, we have four new clips from The A-Team. A couple of the clips showcase the over-the-top action, whilst the other two focus on the character interaction.

Two big movies with heavy relations to the ’80s are quickly approaching theaters – The Karate Kid and The A-Team. I’m not quite sure which I’m more excited about, though.

While The Karate Kid brings back fond memories of catchy slogans (“Get him a body bag!” “Sweep the leg!” “Squish! Just like grape.”), nothing can beat the childhood memories of watching The A-team on a weekly basis, as they helped out local town folk and down-on-their-luck individuals for little to no pay; all while out-running the Military Police led by Colonel Decker.

We were able to view the first A-Team trailer a couple of months back; then the second trailer dropped and everything looked OK with the film. There were several images released and a couple of decent

New TV Spots For ‘The A-Team’ & ‘Jonah Hex’

20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. have each unleashed two new TV spots for their summer tentpole pics, The A-Team and Jonah Hex – all four of which were designed to make it clear to moviegoers that both films will have them up to their ears in explosive set pieces, over-the-top stunts, and occasional one-liners.

First, we have two new spots for The A-Team, which finds Liam Neeson (Clash of the Titans), Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), Sharlito Copley (District 9), and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (…) as a group of wrongly accused soldiers-turned-mercenaries on a quest to clear their names.

Flying tanks, explosions, machine gun fire, and Liam Neeson mugging shamelessly at the camera with a giant stogie in his mouth – you have to give The A-Team marketers credit for being honest ...

There are new posters for several upcoming movies – The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The A-Team, Despicable Me, Gulliver’s Travels, Burke and Hare, and Kane and Lynch – now available for you Screen Rant readers to check out.

First, Summit Entertainment has unleashed a new banner for this summer’s Eclipse, the latest entry in the Twilight series.

The third chapter in The Twilight Saga looks to be the darkest film yet, with a plot that involves an evil vampire’s quest for vengeance and the outbreak of war between the werewolves and the vampires. As with the first two Twilight films, don’t expect non-fans of the franchise to race out to see this one when it hits theaters.

New ‘A-Team’ Character TV Spots & Images

The release of the movie version of the classic ’80s TV series, The A-Team is quickly approaching. But you can never have enough ads for a big action movie like this (or can you?), and so today we have four new character-centric TV spots and a batch of new images for you to take a look at.

This version of The A-Team updates the team from Vietnam soldiers to ex-Iraq War soldiers, but keeps the basic storyline of them being framed for a crime they didn’t commit. Making up the team this time around are Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Face, Sharlto Copley as Murdock and Quinton Jackson as B.A. Baracus. Joining in on the action in supporting roles are Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson.

We’re less than a couple of months away from the release of Joe Carnahan’s big-screen update of The A-Team. To tide you over until the movie’s release, we’ve got some new international posters and images which you can check out below.

The A-Team follows a rogue team of Iraq War soldiers who are on the run and are trying to clear their name with the U.S. military after being framed for a crime they didn’t commit. It stars Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Face, Sharlto Copley as Murdock and Quinton Jackson as B.A. Baracus. Co-starring are Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson.
