As it stands, Hollywood studios are deadlocked in their contract negotiations with the Screen Actors Guild. That news stirs up foul memories of a year ago, when the Writers Guild of America was at a similar juncture with the studios… Soon after that there were no TV shows for about half a year.
And we all know what that did last year’s TV season.
Click to continue "Studios Ramp Up Production Prior To SAG Strike"The news that Bruce Willis has been approached to star as Hannibal Smith in the feature version of The A-Team isn’t really a surprise. He is one of the original names that has been attached to the part for almost a decade but… it’s a pretty good choice!
John Singleton is attached to direct, and the 2 Fast 2 Furious helmer has already mentioned that he would like Woody Harrelson to play Murdock and Ice Cube to play the iconic B.A Barracus. I must point out though, that nobody has in fact been signed.
The main question is: Would Willis be willing to star in such an obviously commercial choice, and one that is based on a 1980’s television show?

So folks, get out your diary and pencil in June 12, 2009 as A-Team Day.
Just don’t get too excited, the film might have a release date, but it does not have a cast. There is no A-Team!!
When John Singleton first came on board we have learned that Ice Cube was in negotiations to play B.A Baracus, and that Singleton would like to cast Woody Harrelson as Murdock. Then things went quiet.

It’s a fantastic concept and I think that if done correctly we might have a really good franchise on our hands. I’m thinking the Ocean’s films - with guns. Lots of guns.
However, I’m worried that the film is going the wrong way in terms of tone and script. The recent script review that I read doesn’t have much connection to the show and I feel that John Singleton isn’t a great choice for a director. I don’t hate the guy - but he isn’t exactly known for his directorial flair and vision.
With Singleton’s recent signing comes news from Blackfilm that Ice Cube is in negotiations to star as the iconic B.A Baracus.
Click to continue "Is The A-Team About To Be Cubed?"A few days ago I posted a story that stated that John Singleton had just signed on to direct a film version of 1980’s television show The A-Team. I also stated that the last time anyone heard about the project was a couple of years ago when James Bond screenwriter Bruce Feirstein had been hired to write a script.
Now it seems that Feirstein’s script has been tossed, and a new script has been written by Lawrence Konner and Mark Rosenthal, with revisions made by Michael Brandt and Derek Yuma.
According to MovieHole.net the new script begins in Baghdad in 2003, and from what I read in the review it sounds like it has as much to do with The A-Team as a daytime cooking program.

Every so often there has been movement on the project, but the last anyone heard, a script was being written by James Bond screenwriter Bruce Feirstein. However that was quite some time ago, and no director has been in place.
This has now changed.
John Singleton, director of Boyz n the Hood and 2 Fast 2 Furious has now come on board to direct.
