Summary
This continuation of the Terminator franchise will serve as a direct sequel to T2: Judgment Day and ignore the events of the other three Terminator sequels. Following Terminator: Genisys' failed attempt to launch a new trilogy in the franchise, the rights reverted back to James Cameron, who decided to spearhead a reboot as producer. In 2017, original stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton were confirmed to return in their iconic roles. Once the cast was set, production began in 2018 and wrapped in November of that year.
